While Fox and NBC have announced the fate for 2/3 of their new shows, CBS is batting 100. Today, all of their shows got the news that was just what the doctor ordered, Bob ♥ Abishola, All Rise, The Unicorn and Carol’s Second Act were all picked up for a full season. Wait, what about Evil? Their first season will end with its lucky 13th episode. Does that mean it is cancelled? Not at all, it will be back for a second season.
I think CBS made the right choices. Evil is one of the few broadcast supernatural shows that actually got stronger after the pilot. Last week’s episode went to a place that not many shows will go. It was a brave risk that wound up working. Yesterday, after I watched Bob ♥ Abishola, I hoped CBS believed it enough to keep it around. Today, they did just that. One thing I hope they do on Thursday nights is move Carol’s Second Act, which is a really funny s
sitcom that has shown us a new side of Patricia Heaton, up an hour so it follows Young Sheldon. It is a much better fit with The Big Theory spinoff than The Unicorn. That and I thought the latter was this season’s worst new show.
Today is Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s 44th birthday and his TV husband wanted to surprise the B-day boy. How did Eric Stonestreet do it? Basically, when Mitchell would least expect it, Cam would scream out, “Happy birthday!”
Which makes you wonder if Stonestreet is trying to make it so that Ferguson’s birthday is also his deathday?
Too bad, Eric’s birthday was last month. I would like to see how Jesse gets him back. If he gets revenge next year, it will be even sweeter. That is because they will be done filming Modern Family, so the prankster would never ever expect it.
We can watch Paul Rudd do anything, but do we want to watch him sleeping for four minutes? That is what The Late Late Show decided to find out yesterday. Thus, they recorded him getting some shuteye. Did you watch him napping for all four minutes like James Corden or did you find yourself taking a nap too? I found myself daydreaming about me sleeping next to him and opening my eyes to see that. It was a nice quickie!
Jimmy Kimmel is back in Brooklyn this week taping his show, and there was something the ABC host had to do. If you get into a NYC cab, then you might hear a message from him. Thankfully, there is a mute button if you want to silence him like the lambs.
When he heard that a lot of the passengers were muting him, he decided to get revenge on a few of them that did that. He rented a bus and followed behind a taxi that would be playing his video. The only thing is that this one was live and not pre-taped. Therefore, he interacted with the unsuspecting riders. How would the New Yawkers deal with him when they can’t shut him up? Better than I would, which makes me wonder what happened to my city?
There are plenty of interesting things to do in Burbank, like go for a tour of Warner Bros Studios or see a show at the Garry Marshall Theatre. However, there is one thing that is truly unique to the city and it is Pjorn Star Karaoke (new management, new name, same great PSK). However, when Sardo’s closed its doors back in 2017, PSK went with it. Or so we thought.
After a two-year hiatus, it is finally back on Tuesdays nights for everyone over 21 to enjoy at Crawfords Pass. Thanks to popular demand. The people wanted it, and Crawfords Pass decided to give it a trial run. Well, the trial run is over and PSK is officially back.
What is PSK? For 14 years, some of the biggest names in Adult Entertainment would get together to feel normal every Tuesday night and sing other people’s tunes in their own special way. Sometimes better than the original artist. Most importantly, it is about getting together with old friends and new ones to have some fun, blow off some steam and sing their hearts out. If singing is not your thing, then you can dance as if no one is watching. You know do a Billy Idol or you can sing Dancing with Myself after a few drinks. However, don’t drive home if you had too many.
You never know who you are going to see there. In the past people like Ron Jeremy, Hal Sparks and many others stopped by. Now, you can watch one of the regulars like Riley Nixon, Siouxsie Q, Sovereign Syre, Loni Legend, Jojo Kiss, Chris Cock, Rod Jackson, Stirling Cooper belt out their favorite tunes.
You do not have to just watch, you can get up there and sing, sing a song. Next Tuesday (October 29th), they are having a costume night and the best look wins a $100. Which means you can celebrate Halloween early and get a huge treat.
It is the treat that keeps on giving every Tuesday night. Whether you are a newbie or you have been there before, it is an enjoyable experience that you will soon not forget. Let’s get the party started this week and pack the house as they did in the good old days.
