Dynasty is about to begin its third season, and they are getting their third Cristal, their second Cristal Jennings.
Confused? For season 1, Nathalie Kelley played Cristal Flores Carrington. The actress was asked not to return for season 2 and was killed off. She was replaced by Ana Brenda Contreras who starred as Cristal Jennings. She claimed her friend Cristal took her name for a new identity.
Now, Deadline is reporting that Contreras is out and Daniella Alonso is in. Showrunner Josh Reims told the trade, “Unfortunately, Ana Brenda Contreras will not be returning for the third season of Dynasty due to personal reasons. We’d like to thank her for her contributions to the show and wish her all the best. We’re excited to welcome Daniella Alonso who will step into the role of Cristal.”
Contreras is the second actress to leave the nighttime soap for personal reasons. Nicollette Sheridan quit the show earlier this year to be with her dying mother. Elizabeth Gillies temporarily stepped into the role to play her character’s mother.
Therefore, if you do the math that is 3 Cristals and 2 Alexises. Dynasty is more of a soap opera behind the scenes than in front of the camera. Although the final minutes of the season 2 finale were pretty close to perfection.
Season 3 debuts October 11th on The CW with a new Cristal and no Alexis.
It has been an unsweet 16 years since Dawson’s Creek ended and looks like Dawson and Pacey are still fighting over Joey. Are they? Nope, James Van Der Beek and Joshua Jackson were just getting a work out at their “gym is cooler than your gym.”
This photo makes you wonder why they don’t do a reunion. They don’t need Michelle Williams to be part of it since she died in the series finale. It is not a spoiler if it is over 15 years old.
On Septmeber 26th, The Brady Bunch turns the big 5-0! However, we are getting a gift 17 days earlier! That is because after a year of hearing about A Very Brady Renovation, the show finally gets a premiere date.
HGTV announced today that will see how the inside of the Brady house was renovated to match the outside starting on September 9th. 9/9 is an easy date to remember, so don’t forget it.
You are not going to want to miss this series. Out of all of the renovations they have done throughout the decades, this is their best one yet. Because when it’s time to change, you’ve got to rearrange an iconic house that finally became available to own. I hope they use that song as their theme song because it seems so relevant to the theme.
When it comes to series, on the 90-minute season premiere, the six Brady children and the designers give us a tour of the house that looks nothing like the one we grew up with. Then when they are done, it is time to take a hammer to it. As the weeks go on, we will see “Christopher Knight and Eve Plumb recreate the orange and green kitchen and family room with Leanne and Steve Ford; Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen join forces with Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine to overhaul the kids’ bedrooms and the Jack-and-Jill bathroom as well as the backyard; Barry Williams and Jasmine take on Mike’s den; Barry, Jasmine Roth and Lara Spencer makeover Greg’s attic; and Eve and Lara recreate Alice’s bedroom.”
I cannot wait to see what they did. They are being so secretive about it, they have a covered fence around the house so we cannot see in. I know this because I keep driving by to look inside and I can’t. Meanies. Don’t they know it is about the fans who love seeing the house? Or me!
Back in 1988, we became afraid to go to the circus because of the cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The oversized Klowns, who are not from Earth, put their victims in cotton candy cocoons. Which sounds really sweet, until you realize that all of the victims are dead. Therefore, you cannot eat your way out of it.
Why am I telling you all of this about a movie that came out over 30 years ago? Because it is still fresh in the minds of Universal Studios. So much so, they are adding it to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights in both Orlando (September 6th) and Hollywood (September 13th).
What can you expect from the maze that has been transported from Crescent Cove and time? They say, “Guests will be lured by the sweet smell of cotton candy and ice-cream and find themselves in an otherworldly circus tent where they’ll come face-to-face with the crazed klowns and their sinister, side-splitting antics. As they make their way through the Big Top Space Ship, guests will witness diabolical klowns making cotton candy cocoons from unsuspecting victims and will realize the joke’s on them as they are next to become the gooey snack. From one shrieking klown to the next, the mazes will lead guests through the doomed community of Crescent Cove to an eerie amusement park closed for the season. Trapped in a terrifying funhouse full of killer klowns, guests will be left screaming as there’s no stopping this twisted three-ring circus.”
I don’t know about you, but this sounds like the perfect addition to their lineup. It makes you wonder why they have not been doing it all along. I mean cotton candy, popcorn and scary clowns is what the holiday is all about.
How does Grant Cramer, who played Mike Tobacco, feel about his movie coming to life? He told me, “I’d love to see Killer Klowns become a Halloween staple just like Dracula or Frankenstein or werewolves. Every Halloween I see a few more KKFOS costumes, decorations, and cool things like this. I think it’s awesome!”
It truly is awesome. If you have never seen Killer Klowns or want to watch it again, you can check it out for free on Tubi TV. It is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. There is nothing quite like it and it can never be reproduced (please Hollywood don’t try). However, it can be enjoyed by one, by all! It is just killer fun. They don’t make movies like this anymore. Yet, it is just as timeless now as it was then.
Which is why I will be walking over to Universal Hollywood (yeah I live that close) to see what they do with this, Stranger Things, Ghostbusters and The Walking Dead in September and October.
