Barry Manilow writes the songs that make the whole world sing and one of those songs he wrote in a dream.
Today when he was on Good Morning America, Robin Roberts wanted to know what is his favorite song that he has written. At first, he was hesitant to give an answer because he says, “They are all my children.” Then he settled on Could It Be Magic which is one of the first songs of his he ever released and he based it on Frédéric Chopin’s Prelude.
Then he revealed his second favorite song is One Voice. It is one of his favs because he wrote it in a dream. Then he explained how it came about, “I got up in the middle of the night. It was all there, the melody, the lyrics.” Adding, “I whispered into the cassette machine…Then I went back to sleep. And then I played it in the morning and there it was, the whole song.”
Back in the ’90s, the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 had their own trading cards. In honor of them all working together again, Fox released a new set of them before the show’s premiere on August 7th. Now you can trade Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering and Gabrielle Carteris for Shannen Doherty. Let’s be honest that is the only card we want.
Before Brad Pitt was one of the most sought after actors, you really had to seek to find him in Hunk. He looks the same now as he did when he was 22 in that 1987 movie.
Last year, ABC cancelled Designated Survivor and then Netflix picked it up for a third season in September. Today, they announced that they too are cancelling the show. Even though we will not get any more new episodes, the old ones will continue to stream for years to come.
Netflix said this about the cancellation, “We’re especially thankful to star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland, who brought passion, dedication and an unforgettable performance as President Kirkman. We’re also grateful to showrunner/executive producer Neal Bear for his guiding vision and steady hand, creator/executive producer David Guggenheim and EPs Mark Gordon, Suzan Bymel, Simon Kinberg, Aditya Sood and Peter Noah along with the cast and crew who crafted a compelling and satisfying final season.”
However, the news is not really a surprise. Kiefer Sutherland is busy with his musical career, Kal Penn has a new show on NBC and Italia Ricci is expecting her first child.
Last year, I was OK with the show getting the ax, but this season I am going to miss it. It was as thrilling as the first half of season one when the show was really enjoyable. At least we got one more season.
You know if Netflix keeps cancelling the shows I watch, I might have to cancel them.
