Who knew Will Smith was so short?
April 8th, 2019 under Will Smith. [ Comments: none ]

When I think of Will Smith, I think of him as a pretty tall guy, but not anymore. He shared a photo from the set of Bad Boys 3 with players from the Sixers. He claims he is 6’2″, but I am not sure I believe him after this. Do you?

BTW since I know very little about baseball, kidding I know it is basketball, I do not know who those two players are.

I agree that Unplanned should be rated R
April 8th, 2019 under Movies. [ Comments: none ]

Unplanned, if you have not heard, is an anti-abortion movie. They have no qualms of showing you that in the first few minutes of the film in a scene that made this girl, who has seen thousands of horror movies, squirm and cover her eyes.

They show a woman getting an abortion, something that we have seen before, but in a way that is really hard to watch. Abby, the central figure, was doing a sonogram on a woman as it was happening. You can see a fully formed fetus being sucked out. You can be pro-choice and still be horrified by that image that will stay with you for a long time.

It does not stop there, Abby takes the abortion pill to terminate a pregnancy. She starts bleeding, so she runs into the shower. As she is taking the shower, the fetus drops out of her and she throws it in the toilet.

And there is more. A teenager has an abortion done and something goes wrong. She is bleeding profusely. They rush her back into the room and you just see them sucking up even more blood.

That is just the graphic scenes. The movie portrays the female boss as an extreme heartless bitch. She is like we need to do abortions and that is how we make our money. When Abby takes a pregnancy test and it turns out positive, the boss says to her very abruptly I can handle that for you.

Later on in the movie, the two women have it out and Abby is reprimanded for insubordination. Shortly, after that, she witnessed the abortion on the sonogram and quits.

Which makes think that Abby could be a disgruntled employee getting revenge on Planned Parenthood for whatever reason.

I do not know how Planned Parenthood works internally nor what goes during an abortion. I am sure some of it they got right, and I am also sure they exaggerated a lot of it to make their point.

It is a one-sided story where abortion is bad and that is it.

They say things like Scared Straight do not work. Fear does not tell someone not to do something. Which is why I hate those smoking commercials.

I have my opinion on abortion, they have theirs. When it comes to the movie, I do not think it is appropriate for teens. I don’t even think it is appropriate for adults and I have seen a lot of gruesome deaths in horror movies and this was way too much for me. Give me Saw anyday of the week over this.

When it comes to why I saw the movie, I believe in knowing both sides of the story. I enjoy watching movies about Faith. This is not about faith, it is about preaching that abortion is wrong. Yet, they do not offer any alternatives. They make it seem like women go into the Planned Parenthood, have the abortion and are like let’s go party. No woman I know, whoever had an abortion was like that. They are regrets, but not as many if they had the child at that time.

I was not going to go there, but I am. It is not our place to tell someone else what to do with their bodies.

I just think it is ridiculous that the people who are so anti-abortion are the same ones who do not want to give that woman and her child healthcare or any care. Life does not stop mattering when you are born. That is when it starts. You cannot tell someone to have a baby and not offer her any help. If the men want her to have it so badly, then how about they raise their child after it is born. We won’t be debating abortion again after that.

I can see the creators of this movie being like well now they know how we feel when they depict abortion. Which I guess makes sense, except we don’t show you all those graphic scenes. Although, they are the first group to complain if there is there violence on TV. It works both ways. And I wish they would have shown even a little something from the other side of the issue.

We have become so onesided and that is very dangerous. See what is going on in America today. Thus, why this movie is so controversial and rightfully so.

I don’t think we will be getting an Avengers musical movie
April 8th, 2019 under Chris and Liam Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr.. [ Comments: none ]

Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo are doing publicity for Avengers: Endgame and they decided to give the press a show. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and The Hulk sang The Beatles’ Hey Jude for the reporters and thankfully they are reviewing the movie and not that performance. If they did, then we would not get another Avengers movie from these guys. Oh, wait…

Is Ryan Reynolds ready to bring back Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place?
April 8th, 2019 under Ryan Reynolds. [ Comments: none ]

ABC announced today that even though they DON’T want to do a game show with Ryan Reynolds, they are. The show is called Don’t and there is only one big rule for the families of four, don’t do something in each of the five mental or physical challenges like don’t laugh or don’t scream or don’t be a fan of Deadpool. The latter is really easy.

The network described it as, “In each episode, one family will have a set amount of time to succeed in each hilarious task and win a cash prize. When they fail a challenge, they don’t earn money and one of them will be eliminated from the game. Family members can be eliminated until only one remains. The last standing relative must complete the rest of the challenges on their own to win money for the family.”

Reynolds explained how he came up with the idea, “All my life, the word ‘don’t’ has tortured me. From ‘don’t curse’ to ‘don’t play ball in the house’ to ‘don’t eat the crab salad you left in the sun for three days.’ I cannot wait for my personal trauma to become the next great ABC family show.”

Long before Don’t, he worked on another show that aired on ABC, and he hints he is ready to bring that show back to TV to give it the justice it so richly deserves. He Tweeted this after the announcement, “ABC cruelly canceled Two Guys, A Girl & a Pizza Place 18 years ago. ‘DON’T’ is so good, it‘ll fast become the 2nd best show ABC has ever produced. And ABC will worship me. And my sitcom will be back on the air. @TraylorHoward @NathanFillion and @RichardRuccolo, you’re on notice.”

Don’t be surprised if he gets his way. You know if he was really smart, he would get Nathan Fillion to host Don’t. He is a game show host in the making.

A mini-Everybody love Raymond reunion
April 8th, 2019 under Brad Garrett, Ray Romano. [ Comments: 1 ]

Next month, it will be 14 years since Everybody Love Raymond ended and yet Brad Garrett and Ray Romano still act like the brothers they played on that beloved sitcom. Over the weekend, the two men reunited at Garrett’s Las Vegas comedy club and I am sure the patrons enjoyed the double surprise of funny.

Which makes you wonder why they don’t do a revival of their sitcom that ended way too early. They can film it over the summer while Garrett is on a break from Single Parents (which ABC better pick up for a second season). The story is easy to do, Ally, her husband and their child move into her late grandparents’ house and now Debra and Ray are acting just like Frank and Marie did to them. Not only that, a recently divorced Robert moves back into his old room and drives everyone crazy.
