Happy New Year FOTB! Who quits Hell’s Kitchen? Crazy Ex Girlfriend brings heart
February 1st, 2019 under ABC, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: none ]

It is time for the Lunar New Year on Fresh Off the Boat tonight at 8p in ABC and this year the Huangs are not celebrabaing alone. Julius (Reggie Lee), Elaine (Ming-Na Wen) and their son Horace (Jimmy O. Yang) will be joining the this year.

As soon as Julius and Horace get there, they get into a verbal fight that turns physical. They do this annually so that this way they can start the year off clean. When Louis (Randall Park) gets into a fight with one of his sons (Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler and Ian Chen), he decides to the same. Will it have the same effect on their father/son relationship?

They are not the only ones who are fighting, so are Jessica (Constance Wu) and her mother-in-law (Lucille Soong). Elaine thinks she can mend things between the two women, but she makes things worse. How much worse?

You don’t want to miss another great episode that also teaches about the Chinese New Year.

Then at 9p on Fox, things are really heating up in Hell’s Kitchen for the final four. The night starts off innocent enough with a challenge that has the final four cooks preparing a dish tableside for chefs to judge. It is a relaxing, yet awkward day prize for the winner of the challenge. Even the dinner service goes smootly as they each take a turn at running the line.

Then when it comes time to put two people up for elimination, one of the chefs put themselves up. Is it Bret? Mia? Motto? Or Ariel? Why are they doing it? How will Gordon Ramsay react? What does it mean for the finale?

You just have to tune in for a truly shocking episode because I ain’t going to tell you.

Also at 9p but over on The CW, it is time for the Crazy Ex Girlfriend to get wet. Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) convinces Greg (Skylar Astin) to go to a water park with her. Only thing is that he hates it. He hates everything but her. It is because he loves her that he suffered through it. When she realize that, they get into a big fight.

Rebecca has not been keeping up with her therapy and her doctors are worried about her. They have every reason to be worried. After her fight with Greg, she does the unthinkable and she knows she needs help. Will she do what they want her to do?

She is not the only one. Paula (Donna Lynne Champlin) has a lot on her plate: work, studying for the bar exam, her kids and everything else, and it is all catching up to her. She does not have time to stop even though her body is telling her to relax. What will she do?

Did I mention there is a really great solo for Greg tonight? His best one since I Gave You A UTI. For some reason, I feel like that was someone else? Because it was! But the point is, you will be singing this one for a while.

Just like the other songs. On that note, on April 5th after the series finale, The CW is going to air a concert special with the cast singing some of the fans’ favorite songs throughout the show’s run. I hope we get My First Penis and Heavy Boobs. What do you want to hear?

Did Abby Lee Miller just reveal the new elite team and their Dance Moms?
February 1st, 2019 under Dance Moms. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, Abby Lee Miller revealed that she will be doing another season of Dance Moms for Lifetime. Earlier this week, she flew back to Pittsburgh to begin filming.

The original elite team has moved on to do movies and TV shows, so she needs a new group of dancers for the reality show. Today, she posted a photo on a bus with some kids and their moms and wrote, “On the road again… I can’t wait to get on the road again! We’re headed North to New Jersey for Starbound! Any advice for us?”

Is this the new cast for Dance Moms? She did not say, but I cannot believe anyone would want to do the show after seeing how she treats people. Then again, I guess people will do anything for fame. I am sure DM helped to catapult JoJo Siwa’s merchandising career. We definitely know it helped Maddie Ziegler, Chloe Lukasiak and Nia Frazier become actresses. Without it, they would just be high school students in Pennsylvania.

Jussie Smollett says, ‘I’m OK’
February 1st, 2019 under Empire, Jussie Smollett. [ Comments: none ]

On Tuesday morning at 2a in Chicago, Jussie Smollett was attacked by 2 strangers who hit him, yelled homophobic and racist slurs at him, threw an unidentified chemical (he says bleach) at the actor and placed a noose around his neck. He was able to get away from them and call the police. After speaking with the cops, he took himself to the hospital and was hospitalized.

He has been on the mend ever since the horrific hate crime and today he finally broke his silence. The Empire star told Essence, “Let me start by saying that I’m OK. My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you. The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words.”

Then he addressed the misinformation that is being reported about the incident. He said, “I am working with authorities and have been 100% factual and consistent on every level. Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe that justice will be served.”

Smollett knows that this is not an isolated attack and he has a takeaway from it. He wants people to know, “Most importantly, during times of trauma, grief and pain, there is still a responsibility to lead with love. It’s all I know. And that can’t be kicked out of me.”

For now, he still needs time to process what happened to him. After he has done that, then he promises to talk more about the heinous crime that changed his life. For now, this is all he is saying.

He is not letting this stop him from doing what he loves. He is expected to go on with the show at the Troubadour tomorrow night in LA. We cannot late the haters win because that is what they want.

Anthem Lights do a Maroon 5 medley
February 1st, 2019 under Adam Levine, Anthem Lights. [ Comments: none ]

On Sunday, Maroon 5 is going to take the Super Bowl half time stage. In honor of the occasion, Anthem Lights recorded a medley of the band’s greatest hits.

As much as I love it and have had the song on repeat for the last hour, it proves to me why Adam Levine should not be doing the coveted spot. They are a chick band. Girls love them, men not as much. The Super Bowl is a man’s thing and they want more macho music. Why Bon Jovi has never done it is beyond me. They could bring the crowd to their feet like the deciding play in the final seconds of a the game.

Bands like Maroon 5 and Coldplay are just not going to do that. Then again, they can surprise us like Bruno Mars did. However, Levine says he has moves like Jagger, but, let’s be honest, he doesn’t have them.

Having said of all this I do like the band. I just think you have to know your audience and this is not their audience. You need a band that can blow the roof of an arena. They cannot do that. How do you feel about Maroon 5 landing the biggest gig of the year?

Back to Anthem Lights, want to see what songs are part of the medley, then click here!

Has Vicki Lawrence gone grey?
February 1st, 2019 under Vicki Lawrence. [ Comments: 1 ]

Ever since we got to know Vicki Lawrence, when she was just 18 on The Carol Burnett Show, we have known her to be a fiery redhead. Except, of course, when she was playing Mama Harper.

That was then, what about now? She has been a ginger on The Cool Kids all season long, but yesterday she shared a photo from the set with short white hair. Is this her natural do? Nope, it is for an upcoming episode and she will be rocking her co-star Leslie Jordan’s look. Why? Well, we will have to keep tuning into Fox every Friday at 8:30p to find out.
