Day 2 of the fall season and it is really bad
September 25th, 2018 under ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, Wayans Brothers. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight is the second night of the fall season and it is the worst night of television on all of the networks except for NBC. Tonight, we will be crying over This Is Us and tomorrow the heads of ABC, CBS and Fox will be crying over their how bad their shows are.

As I did yesterday and will continue to do, I will do my opinion of best to worst and tonight is a lot of worse.

I will start off with New Amsterdam that debuts at 10p on NBC. It is my favorite new show of the season. It was the only pilot that made me cry. That is because there is a lot of heart in the medical drama. It is not too focused on medical procedures or being a soap opera. It is about the patient as an individual and the doctors who want to make them feel better.

Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) is the brand medical director at Bellevue Hospital in NYC. He is going to shake things up at his new job. He tells the doctors put the patient before billing and he means it. He fires the whole cardiac surgical unit because that is what they do.

He wants to hear what the doctors want, so they can make the hospital a better place. The doctors are more than willing to do it, and it is starting to make them better doctors. How long can they do this before the money people make them stop? Not only that Dr. Goodwin has a secret of his own, one that might limit how long he stays at the hospital.

Thankfully he has a lot of good doctors to back him up like Dr. Hana Sharpe (Freema Agyeman), Dr. Laura Bloom (Janet Montgomery), Dr. Floyd Pearson (Jocko Sims), Dr. Anil Kapoor (Anupam Kher) and Dr. Iggy Frome (Tyler Labine).

I just love the feel of the show because it is a medical drama but not one that makes you feel like you might get diagnosed with one the unusual illnesses they have. Plus, Ryan Eggold plays the role so brilliantly. He is one of them, while also being their boss. You can feel the compassion in his performance.

Actually, you feel the compassion about the whole show and that is why it is my favorite new show of the season.

I want Tiffany Haddish to teach me sex ed!
September 25th, 2018 under James Corden, Tiffany Haddish. [ Comments: none ]

In high school, I was the worst kid to have in a sex ed class. Then when I was in college, I gave lectures on safe sex. As cool as I thought I was talking about sex, Tiffany Haddish puts me to shame.

Yesterday, when she was on The Late Late Show, James Corden asked her what type of teacher would she be if taught at a school. Of course, she said sexual education and then gave her first lecture. She talked about how ladies need to drown it once a week and men need to put “their hot dog in hot water.” Not something I would discuss, but I am not her.

I think a network needs to give her a show where she talks about sex like Dr. Ruth. I think we would all learn something new every week.

The Royals reign is officially over
September 25th, 2018 under E!. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6X8KnqYRvQ
Back in August, E! cancelled the Royals after 4 seasons and Lionsgate tried to shop it around. Now a month later, the studio gives us a sad update.

They wrote, “#Loyals, we’re so thankful for your undying support of #TheRoyals, but sadly our reign has officially come to an end. It has been a true privilege to bring this series to life and to work with such an amazing cast and crew on 4 incredible seasons! 💖👑🇬🇧 #LongLiveTheRoyals.”

While I hated the addition of King Robert, I was still enjoying the show. Too bad, it made like Anne Boleyn and had its head cut off.

People quit their jobs because of Ron Livingston
September 25th, 2018 under Ron Livingston, Seth Meyers. [ Comments: none ]

Ron Livingston was on Late Night yesterday and the first thing Seth Meyers asked him about was Office Space. Which has to be the best workplace movie ever made even though Jennifer Aniston was in it.

Anyways, Livingston said that out of all of the characters that he has ever played, Peter Gibbons is the one that most people stop to talk to him about. Some of them tell him, “‘This movie and you were the reason I quit my job and gave up my livelihood.'” How does he react? He waits a few seconds and then tells them, “Good for you.” He wants to make sure that they don’t him what Milton did as revenge for taking his stapler. Poor Milton.

That movie has never made me want to quit my job, but I did have fantasies about taking a printer/fax machine to an abandoned field and beating the crap out of it with a baseball bat. How orgasmic would that be?

When it comes to Livingston’s new show A Million Little Things, just watch Office Space or anything else instead.

Nothing comes between Jerry O’Connell and his dog including clothes!
September 25th, 2018 under Jerry O'Connell/Rebecca Romijn. [ Comments: 1 ]

Jerry O’Connell and his dog are so close, that he has the same relationship with her that Brooke Shields has with her Calvins. Nothing comes between them

Is his wife jealous of their closeness? Not at all since Rebecca Romijn was the one who shared this arfdorable photo of the two, as she calls them, “white bitches”.

Why did she post a photo of her loves like that? To promote his new Bravo show Play By Play that debuted yesterday. What is it all about? Think of it as a show where four dudes get together and talk sports. Instead, they are gossiping about all things Real Housewives. Not only are they funny, but they actually found a way to use the lower third of the screen to make us laugh. Whether you are a Bravoholic or not, you will love this talk show that airs Monday at 10p.
