CBS announced today that Young Sheldon is doing so well, it will be back for a second season. Is the news a surprise? Of course, you don’t have to be a genius like to Sheldon to know that is not only the #1 new show of the season, it is in top 3 of scripted shows. Not bad for a comedy about a loving American family. Strange concept that that concept still does well.
Jerry O’Connell is on Larry King Now today and the Ora.TV host wanted to know what his guest wishes he was better at. The actor told him, “I, wish, I was better at, carving out time to be with my kids and really doing their homework with them.”
Then when he asked, “What never fails to make you laugh,” Charlie and Dolly’s father without hesitation said, “My children!” Who wouldn’t want a father who loves them as much as he loves his 9-year-old twin girls? No wonder he landed a supermodel, Rebecca Romijn, she knew what a good man and father she was getting with Jerry.
Someone who didn’t land O’Connell, and I think was a huge mistake, was Live with Kelly. Did he want that job? In a word, “Yeah!” Then he explained why, “I really enjoyed her. She’s a doll. She’s a joy. She’s so fun. And you can see it every day when you watch her.” In fact, he admitted he still watches it everyday, so he is not bitter about not getting the job. He isn’t, but I am.
Seriously, can’t you see him being the next Larry King? He would be a great talk show host.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvP9tQ9BPFE Child Support had me at Ricky Gervais interacting with kids, and kept me because it is such a lovable show. The game show that debuts on ABC tonight at 8p has two different elements to it, that merge well together.
The first part has Fred Savage as the host for the adult contestants. He asks the adults questions and if they guess right, they move on. If they get it wrong, they lose a money value, starting at $250,000, and it is up to the kids to save them. If the kids also get it wrong, then the adult goes home without any money.
Gervais is with a panel of 4-5 kids and he asks them the questions that was asked to the adults first, whether the senior got it right or not. The questions are pretty easy for a kid, and not as easy for an adult. But what makes it worth it is how Gervais interacts with the kids. He is a big lovable kid like them, so you cannot help but love watching him with them.
Together it all mashes well together, creating an enjoyable hour of television to end the week with. But if I am being honest, I could watch just an hour of Gervais with the kids. It is so sweet and we need to end the week on a happy note like this.
Therefore, tune in tonight and every Friday for a game show everyone can fall in love with.
On February 2nd, Justin Timberlake is releasing his fourth studio album Man of the Woods. But we do not have wait until then to hear new music from it. Today, he released Filthy, the first song from it, and I hope the rest of them are better than that. It is basically a synthesized instrumental with a word every now and again. Really not much to it.
If he decides to perform it at the Super Bowl Half Time show on February 4th, then it will not go over well. Not only because it is new, it is also because there is no life to it. You need to pump up the crowd not put them to sleep.
When it comes to the video, I would have liked it better if it was just the robot. What do you think of it all?
