I have not watched the Golden Globes in years, but I tuned tonight for Seth Meyers. I made the right choice.
When he first started hosting Late Night, I thought he sucked at doing monologues. Now 4 years later, he blew people away with his Golden Globes opening monologue. He brilliantly handled the elephants that were not in the room. He had us at, “Ladies and remaining gentlemen,” and kept us laughing for the next 12 minutes. He got oohed for making fun of Kevin Spacey’s Southern Accent. He got laughs as he told jokes with members of the audience. None of it was mean, it was just the right level of fun mixed with snark. It was perfect.
But I have a complaint. During most awards shows, I wish the host would not involve themselves in the shindig as much. Tonight I was upset that he was not in the show enough. He came in like a wrecking ball, smashed like Hulk and then went away for the rest of it. I wanted more of him not less like I do all the others.
What did you think of him being the master of ceremonies? Are you going to watch Late Night from now on? That Jokes Seth Can’t Tell segment is a laugh out loud riot that makes you feel guilty for laughing. Translation, you need to be watching. There’s a reason why I say he is the best late night host on the Big 3.

Oprah Winfrey won the Cecil B. de Mille Award at the 75th annual Golden Globes but all anyone can talk about her speech. She was so eloquent as she talked about sexual harassment, politics and women’s right, that before she was finished people were saying Oprah 2020.
Can you imagine if she were President? She would invite Kim Jung-un over to talk, he would sit on the couch and by the end of their chat he would be jumping on it, screaming that he loves America. She would also have a meeting with Vladimir Putin and by the time it was over, he would be crying uncontrollably.
She would go in to have talks with Congress and Senate and we she came out, she would hold a presser. At that presser, she would tell the American people, “You get healthcare. You get healthcare. Everyone gets healthcare!!!” And after that it would be same for a tax breaks because everyone gets a tax breaks.
Why wait until 2020 to make it up, let’s just have her take over the White House now!
When we last left off with The Last Man on Earth, we caught a quick glimpse of Fred Armisen as he made his debut on the brilliant, touching and funny sitcom. Tonight at 9:30p on Fox, we get to learn a lot more about his character Karl in a standalone episode.
Karl is a guy who lives on his own. The type of guy who goes out on dates with a Leighton Meester type, but goes home all by himself.
Then one day he makes a mistake and he flees to Mexico to start a new life. On the way there, he meets our special guest star of the night and they share an unforgettable moment. When he settles in Mexico, he begins his new life. Just when he decides to change his ways, the virus happens. Now everyone around him is dead and he is living all by himself.
That is until Tandy (Will Forte) and Tood (Mel Rodriguez) find him. What happens next, we will have to wait until next week to find out.
What I am not telling you, is why I will never be able to look at Armisen the same way. Why? You will just have to tune in to find out. Not only for that but all because LMOE is a witty comedy with so much heart, it will leave you starting the work week off with a huge smile on your face. As long as you don’t hone in on the fact that it is post-apocalyptic show about a virus that wiped out almost everyone on Earth and the few survivors are trying to repopulate the world. Survivors who get to live out some of their fantasies because who is going to stop them? See a fell good way to end your Sunday nights.

I always thought that Oprah Winfrey is perfect, but turns out she has an imperfection. Like the rest of us, she has a few greys in hair. Instead of letting the silver strands show at the Golden Globes, she is getting them done to match the dresses on the red carpet, black. So now we know her little secret, her drapes need to be dyed every now and again. But don’t tell anyone because I won’t.
