A few weeks ago Lee Daniels said that Mo’Nique was blackballed after winning the Oscar, something she denied. Today, she did an interview with Access Hollywood and she claims that she was offered the role of Cookie in Empire. She said, “Mr. (Lee) Daniels offered me the part of Cookie, and I have the emails and the sides to go along with it, and what he said was, ‘I’m new to this TV thing. This is just a technicality… you have the role.’ Okay. I have the emails. Well, four days have gone by because I didn’t receive a phone call or another email for the location of where I was supposed to go to do this screen test.” She then claims that she was told by the director that the network didn’t want to cast her on the show because she reportedly is difficult to work with. Co-Executive Producer, Danny Strong, strongly denies her claims and said the role was always Taraji P Henson’s.
That is a good thing because I don’t think Empire would be the hit that it is if she wasn’t cast in the lead role. Henson kills it in every scene she is in, I don’t think that Mo’Nique would’ve had that same impact. Plus, I don’t think the chemistry would’ve been as smoking as it is with Luscious and Cookie if Terrence Howard didn’t have Henson to play off of.

You would think after all of these years that the contestants would know what Gordon Ramsay wants, but they don’t. One contestant actually served him spaghetti and marinara sauce, and the sauce came from a jar. The woman who prepared that meal for him is just one of the many characters we have to look forward to this season. There’s another person on the show this season who will ask him if they can use the bathroom as he is describing what they can expect from that night’s dinner service.
Those are just two of the examples of what is going to happen this season. According to the preview video we can expect a whole lot more. That’s why this show is beginning its 14th season and counting.

From one fire to another, Chicago Fire is back on NBC tonight at 10p and Chief Boden is not. That means that Chief Pridgen (Matthew Del Negro) is still in charge and no one likes him. Pridgen has found out that Casey (Jesse Spencer) is dating his ex-wife, and he is going after him even harder than he was before.
When they are called out to a fire, they are informed that a there is a little girl is trapped on the third floor by the building manager. As they are preparing to get her out, another woman comes running up to the chief and says her uncle fell and hurt his ankle. The chief orders Casey to go take care of that man a few blocks away and leave the scene of the fire. The remaining firefighters are able to rescue the little girl, but what they don’t know is that building manager went back inside to rescue her. When the fire becomes too powerful, he is thrown out of the third story window and is now in critical condition because of it.
Now there is an investigation into what happened and it is a he said/he said thing with the powers to be who are siding with the chief. Will Engine 51 be able to convince them that the chief is at fault or will someone else take the fall for his mess up? You don’t want to miss this tense and exciting episode to see what happens.

The other day on Family Feud, Steve Harvey asked, “Name a place where you panic if the toilet didn’t flush after you used it.” Kate guessed that that place would be at a new lover’s home. After the host saw that the answer was on the board, he shared a story about an experience that happened to him that was just like her answer.
Back when he was in college, he went out with a girl that he thought was way out of his league. Trying to impress her, he went to a Creole restaurant. He wasn’t familiar with the food and ordered a lot of spicy food. When they were done eating, he went to drop her off at her house. She invited upstairs and that is when his stomach had a message for him. When natures calls, you have to answer it. He went into her bathroom, did his business and then the toilet didn’t flush. His dinner started to come out of the bowl. He panicked and grabbed the trashcan to capture the overflowing water. Then it started to fill up, so he dumped the contents into the bathtub. After an hour and a half he finally was able to emerge from the bathroom. The girl then asked him what was all over his pants, turns out some of the stuff splashed all over him.
Needless to say he didn’t get a second date, but we got a first rate story! Poor Steve Harvey!
