The things Blake Shelton can do with his finger!
September 23rd, 2014 under Blake Shelton, Conan O'Brien, The Voice. [ Comments: none ]

Pizza Hut released a really weird online ad with Blake Shelton, and Conan O’Brien had a field day with it. He replaced the pizza with other objects that The Voice’s coach’s finger could be used for, and it’s crazy how well they worked. Although who would think a pussy being poked by him would make that sound. I don’t want to finger point, but maybe the TBS show went a little too far with that one…

NCIS: New Orleans started off as a sweeps’ stunt and not a series!
September 23rd, 2014 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

NCIS: New Orleans makes its standalone premiere on CBS tonight at 9p and it is something to be jazzed about.
A partial leg is found by the docks and now the NCIS team is called in to investigate it. When Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) is told that a Navy Seal has gone missing, he begins to think the two are connected. He thinks it’s a friend of his who he helped get out of the gangs and go good. So what happened to him? That is what they are going to find out.
We almost didn’t find this out because the show was not supposed to be a spinoff. Executive Producer Gary Glassberg told us at the CBS TCA Summer Press Day that he was talking to NCIS’ Mark Harmon about some sweeps ideas, and going to New Orleans was pitched. Harmon told him, “Gary, those aren’t the sweeps episodes. That’s a series.” Just over a year later, NCIS: NoLa is airing as its own show every Tuesday at 9p. When Hollywood sees something great, they move on it. A decision that has proven to be smart move on CBS’s part.

Barry Manilow is a friend of Dorothy!

Barry Manilow has released a few albums in the past with him redoing classics, and he has also done one of all duets with some friends who are also famous singers. Well on October 27th he is doing something he has never done before, he is releasing a duets album where they sing some legendary songs together. Wait, he’s done that before? So how is My Dream Duets different than those other ones? All the singers he is singing with on it have passed on. That’s pretty different.
He dreamed a little dream and now he gets to sing with the likes of The Mamas & The Papas’ Mama Cass.
Although John Denver and him have sung together in the past, it is not something that he can’t do now. That is until this album and you will hear them belt out one last duet together.
Before Manilow was as well known as he is known now, an icon passed away and he wasn’t able to sing with her. Now, Judy Garland makes his heartstrings go zing as his somewhere over the rainbow finally happens.
The tune I am most looking forward to is the one where he makes sweet music with Sammy Davis Jr. The two men will put a smile on our face the way only a Candyman can.
I have a feeling this album is not only a dream for him, that is will also be a dream come true for us too. If you want to order, My Dream Duets it is available on Amazon pre-order now.

Kat Dennings is broken
September 23rd, 2014 under 2 Broke Girls, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

Kat Dennings stars on 2 Broke Girls, so she knows a little bit about the word broke. Well on Sesame Street, we find out she also knows a thing or two about repairing broken things. That’s because she got to teach Abby about the word repair. Which is a good thing since the actress broke the word repair. Do you think she will be able to repair, repair? You just have to watch to find out.
2 Broke Girls will be back on CBS October 27th, so hopefully this will hold you over until then.

That’s great Seth Meyers, that’s really great!

Seth Meyers hit the 100 mark of hosting NBC’s Late Night and yesterday he showed us what two words he has said the most since he took over the job. That phrase is, “That’s great!” His writers and editors put together a mashup of all the times he said it so far, and tell me if you think that’s great. I know I think that’s great. That’s great, right?
