The Haunted Collector is back on Syfy tonight at 9p and this season they are bringing more emotion in to their investigations. While most paranormal shows are about just about looking into to seeing if there is anything paranormal going on, The Haunted Collector is about that and the people who called John Zaffis look in to their case.
As John explained recently on a conference call, “It’s helping the people, reaching out to them, being able to connect with them and hopefully trying to bring some resolution on several of the different investigations that we encountered, that we were involved with. To me that’s going to be the most important thing.” And that is what we are going to get with the 24 locations they look into this season.
Starting tonight when they go to a barn in Upstate NY and the current owner thinks the past one is haunting the place and killing off her horses. John and investigators will find out if the cause is paranormal or part of this world. But watching the woman going through it all makes this show so much better than the other ones like it.
I love paranormal investigation shows, but I find myself watching more for the architecture and backstory of the place than the case itself. With The Haunted Collector, I am watching more for the case than anything else. That is what these shows should be like and I am glad that one of them finally got it right.
So tune in tonight and every week at 9p to see what John Zaffis and his team encounter next.
The Harlem Shake is quickly becoming the thing that everyone and their brother is doing, even though we all are trying to shake it off of our computer screens. Well Conan O’Brien is so over it that when one of his staff members tried to make a video, he stopped them before they finished it. Not only that, he fired everyone on his crew who took part in it but the ring leader. That guy was banished to the time out section and Deon spent the time figuring out what to do next. Think you know what it is? Oppa, you do!
BTW after weeks of avoiding The Harlem Shake videos, I finally broke down and watched one that I hope puts a Supernatural end this trend.
Fame Flynet
Who am I kidding? We all know that there is nothing in his pocket. The only thing in Jon Hamm’s pants is his little big mad man! And that is a very good thing!
Over the weekend a rumor started that NBC is looking to replace Jay Leno with Jimmy Fallon when the current Tonight Show host’s contract expires in 2014. Well today the NY Post is reporting that and that Howard Stern is being groomed to replace Fallon on Late Night.
I think that Stern is a good choice because he has interviewing skills and he knows how to keep an audience entertained, but can he make the transition from radio to broadcast television. I say that because you know NBC will be put a leash on him and he won’t be able to do the stuff he is known for in the morning. So can a clean Stern be as good as a dirty one? He is a great guest on the late night talk shows, but that is only for two segments and him being the interviewee. Can he handle doing the show by himself in a restricted format? I don’t know. Muzzling someone like him doesn’t work, check the last few big awards shows.
Now when it comes to the timeslot, I think NBC would be smarter to give Stern The Tonight Show and keep Fallon where he is. Stern has a bigger following and can bring in a younger audience. But then again the advantage of him taking over late night is that he can be raunchier at 12:37a than he can at 11:35p.
Plus if given the earlier time, I am not sure Stern would want to compete head to head with his two friends Jimmy Kimmel and David Letterman. He might feel more comfortable going up against Craig Ferguson. And if that were to be the case, I think The Late Late Show’s days would be numbered because CBS would be slaughtered by Stern.
I don’t know what to make of it all. It is an interesting choice. It has its positives and its negatives. It will be fun to see how it all plays out and if NBC will finally confirm the rumors that this is all happening which so far they have denied
And this could all be a waste of time because they can make the changes and then a few months later Leno could take back The Tonight Show. It’s not like he hasn’t done it before.
