Blue Bloods goes where no show has gone before tonight
February 3rd, 2012 under CBS, Tom Selleck. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p Blue Bloods goes where no show has gone before, as it is the first scripted show to film at the 9/11 Memorial and they do with the utmost respect. Frank Reagan’s (Tom Selleck) former-colleague, who was with him on 9/11 in the North Tower of the World Trade Center, is dying from something that was most likely brought on that day. The Police Commissioner goes through a lot of emotions throughout the episode while his friend is losing his battle with life. It is a side you have not seen from Selleck on the show before and it is so compelling to watch his raw emotion on the show. But none of it is more real than the scene where he visits the 9/11 Memorial. His face emulates what every person who goes down there feels and even the ones who will see it on the show today will feel.
The episode is not only emotional because of Frank’s story but there is also an intensely powerful one for Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and his family. While riding home with his wife and two boys in the car, he accidentally hits someone who runs in front of his car. When he goes out to help him, he realizes that the guy was being shot at and the shooter doesn’t plan on stopping. Bullets are exchanged and one enters Danny’s car. His wife and sons will never be the same and he is determined to find the shooter. His wife Linda (Amy Calson) is at her wit’s end over being that close to a bullet that could’ve killed her or one of her sons that she doesn’t know how to deal with her reaction to it. Eventually Danny will see how it is affecting her and he will make an offer she might not be able to refuse. It is something that will leave you crying and wanting to hug Donnie Wahlberg.
While Blue Bloods does not get the Emmy love it so richly deserves, they got something even better by being able to be the first to film at the 9/11 Memorial. It is an honor that we were given and they give it back ten fold in the best episode of the show’s run so far. So tune in for an episode that will leave you drained from emotion, and it is worth it.

Ryan Seacrest swallowed something that was too hot for him to handle
February 3rd, 2012 under American Idol 9+, Ryan Seacrest. [ Comments: none ]

Today on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show, the American Idol host ate an Atomic Wing that is made with habanero extract and his mouth was flaming. So much so that when he spoke to the owner of the place where he got the very hot wing, he asked if his tongue “which he liked” will be better by the weekend because he plans on using it on Sunday. I wonder how Julinanne Hough feels about that reveal?
But the best part came when he found out that it burns just as hot going in is as to does going out. Ryan’s reaction was priceless when he found that out.
Luckily for us even though it is a radio show, they videotaped the whole experience and we got to watch him suffer all the way through the pain. Maybe because I am such a sadist, but I loved every second of it. Is that wrong?
Although I am slightly disappointed that we will not be in the bathroom with him when it comes out. The screaming that will come out of him will make Steven Tyler seem like he is whispering.

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton basically agree Christina Aguilera is a diva!
February 3rd, 2012 under Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, The Voice. [ Comments: none ]

Three of The Voice coaches are on Ellen today and they played a game of Guesstures. It was the girls, Ellen DeGeneres and Christina Aguilera, vs the boys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Both teams had to have their partners guess the musical words they were acting out. When the Maroon 5 singer got diva, he pointed to Xtina and Blake at first said her name and then said “diva”. As soon as she realized what he did she chased Levine around the set and said “not fair”. I think it was and it was very funny. But not as funny as when the only female coach had to act out HEAVY Metal.
Who else besides me can’t wait for The Voice to be back this Sunday after Super Bowl? I love this show.

Did you know that Danny Pudi has a weirdly shaped pen!s?
February 3rd, 2012 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Danny Pudi was on Sundance’s Mortified Sessions, where actors tell what their lives were like before they were famous, and the Community actor admitted something I didn’t need to know. Abed was talking about how he doesn’t really know his father and he was doing a one-man show where he he tells the audience that he wonders if he got his weirdly shaped pen!s from his pop. Unfortunately for the actor his dad came to one of those performances and knew that his son wondered if that was genetic. Too bad for us we never found out if it was hereditary for him.
BTW even though he has a weirdly shaped pen!s, it still works like a normal shaped one because he recently became a father to twins.

Willow Smith no longer can whip her hair
February 3rd, 2012 under Will Smith. [ Comments: none ]

Willow Smith made a name for herself (separate from her parents) with her song Whip My Hair, and now the 11 year old can no longer say that because she shaved her head. Now that she has a hairstyle just like her dad’s, she looks exactly like Will Smith. There is no doubting he is her father, not there was any doubt in the first place.
