RIP Dolly Parton
August 25th, 2026 under Dolly Parton. [ Comments: none ]

Today, we lost a true angel in mortal form. Gd called Dolly Parton home to be with him and her husband, Carl Dean, whom I am sure she wanted to be reunited with ever since his passing in March 2025.

Miss Dolly came from humble beginnings, growing up in a tiny home with her parents and 11 siblings. And maybe it was that upbringing that made her the kind and giving person she grew up to be.

She gave the world music to sing along with, movies to enjoy, talk show appearances to laugh with her, and a kindness to aspire to.

Her legacy will live on in so many different ways. I hope we remember all the incredible things she did behind the scenes, like giving children free books, helping to fund the Moderna COVID vaccine, sending Dollywood employees to college for free, and so much more.

I am sure we are going to learn in the upcoming months that she did so much more than we ever imagined she did. Miss Dolly might have had a flashy persona, but she was very quiet about her generosity.

Writing this is not easy. Because, like so many, I grew up loving Miss Dolly. As a New Yorker, Country music was not my thing. But she stood out. Right now, I am having happy flashbacks of my memories of her, and they go back to when I was just single digits old. Even as a child, I tried to imitate her style, confidence, and sexiness.

She owned who she was, and that is just one of the many reasons why we loved her.

Thank you to her parents for raising her to be the woman she became. Thank you to the town hussy who inspired her look. Thank you to her husband for loving her. Thank you to the record companies that took a chance on her. Thank you to the plastic surgeons and wig makers who kept her looking so good.

Thank you for the music. Thank you for humor. Thank you for movies. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your one liners, like explaining that my feet are so small because things don’t grow in the shade. Thank you for kindness. Thank you for being you. Because of that, I will always remember you with a smile, not with tears.

So, as she was lifted up to heaven, I could hear singing, “Here I go,” from Here You Come Again. However, I will be singing I Will Always Love You and playing the melody with my nails.

When will Only Murders be back?
August 25th, 2026 under Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin. [ Comments: none ]

Disney/Miya Mizuno

When Only Murders in the Building ended its last season, we knew things were changing. And today, we found out the biggest change is the title of the series.

From now on (or at least for this season), it will be known as Only Murders in London because that is where it will take place.

Season 6 is described as: “After successfully bringing the guilty to justice once again, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) embark on their hardest case yet when the next victim – Cinda Canning – arrives at their doorstep, summoning them to London to catch her killer. Our beloved trio of true crime-solving podcasters must now navigate their way through the home of the cozy murder mystery, replete with a whole new collection of suspicious and particularly English-eccentric characters. But can they follow in the footsteps of the woman whose podcast started it all for them … without having their story end the same as hers?”

We will find out when the show premieres on December 8th. New episodes will drop every Tuesday until the season finale.

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are brothers!
August 25th, 2026 under Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson. [ Comments: none ]

For years, there have been rumors that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are related. And now we are learning that not only are they related, but they are also brothers. Apple TV is telling the story about how the two found out that they are indeed Brothers.

“Brothers” follows McConaughey and Harrelson, who play fictionalized versions of themselves, and whose friendship is thrown into chaos when they uncover a decades-old secret: they might actually be brothers. After Woody’s daughter’s engagement falls apart, he loads up the family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew’s ranch. But what begins as a healing getaway quickly spirals when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac (played by Holland Taylor), accidentally lets slip a long-buried secret that the two friends might actually be brothers. As Woody turns the ranch upside down in pursuit of the truth, Matthew finds himself juggling an entirely different identity crisis: a potential run for Governor of Texas. The result is a heartfelt, chaotic, and wildly funny story about friendship, family, fame, and the messy line between myth and reality.”

Brothers premieres with two episodes on September 23rd. A new episode will drop every Wednesday after that until November 4th. Are you going to Apple and Bake with their show?

Netflix is telling Raygun’s story
August 25th, 2026 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

In 2024, Raygun made a name for herself during the first (and only) Breakdancing competition at the Paris Olympics. However, it was not the name she wanted to make. She became an international joke for a horrific performance.

We never got to know the woman behind the memes and conspiracy theories. Nor do we know what her life is like now. But that is going to change because Netflix is telling her Untold story.

I am sure I am not the only one who wants to know more about Rachel Gunn. So tune in September 1st to watch Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly.
