When Only Murders in the Building ended its last season, we knew things were changing. And today, we found out the biggest change is the title of the series.
From now on (or at least for this season), it will be known as Only Murders in London because that is where it will take place.
Season 6 is described as: “After successfully bringing the guilty to justice once again, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) embark on their hardest case yet when the next victim – Cinda Canning – arrives at their doorstep, summoning them to London to catch her killer. Our beloved trio of true crime-solving podcasters must now navigate their way through the home of the cozy murder mystery, replete with a whole new collection of suspicious and particularly English-eccentric characters. But can they follow in the footsteps of the woman whose podcast started it all for them … without having their story end the same as hers?”
We will find out when the show premieres on December 8th. New episodes will drop every Tuesday until the season finale.
Steve Martin shared a photo of Martin Short dressed up like an English woman, and he wrote, “Show business leads us down many strange paths.”
All I could wonder was if that strange path was going to send the two amigos down the aisle. So could we someday meet Mr. & Mrs. Steve and Martin Martin? Only time will tell.
Only Murders in the Building has crossed the pond for season 6, and today, Steve Martin shared a photo of himself, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph filming in London.
Who else is joining Charles and Oliver, Mabel, and Detective Donna Williams overseas? We will have to wait until the season starts streaming on Hulu sooner, rather than later.
I hope they don’t spend the whole season away from NYC, because that undermines the series’ premise.
Today, Hulu released the disappointing season 5 finale for Only Murders in the Building. And they hinted that next season, Steve Martin Short and Selena Gomez would be heading over the pond for season 6.
Hours after the episode premiered, the streamer confirmed that Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short), and Mabel (Gomez) are leaving New York City for London to solve their next murder that landed at their doorstep, I mean, gate.
Spoiler time: What was the point of saving The Arconia if they are not even going to be there? Just a thought.
Another thought, it feels like next season might be their last.
Before today, if someone asked me who are the most competitive game players on television, I would’ve said either Kelly Clarkson or Jimmy Fallon. Not anymore.
That title now goes to Steve Martin Short. The two of them played Catchphrase against Selena Gomez and Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, and they came to win.
However, they are not very good at games, and they don’t like losing. But they are always funny as they shit talk their opponents and themselves.
It was so much fun to watch them suck that I would love to see them get a game show where they play two people, where they can cheat and badmouth the people they are playing. The object of the game is to beat them. But if you do, you are going to have to face their wrath, so you kind of want them to win.
