Steve Martin is matching the colorful wall
September 27th, 2024 under Steve Martin. [ Comments: none ]

Steve Martin is a walking piece of art. So it makes sense that his clothes would turn into art when he walks by art.

Case in point: When the actor posed for this photo, his tie turned into the painting behind him.

Who knew besides acting, making us laugh, and playing the banjo, he is also a magician. What can’t he do? Besides, get Martin Short under control. But, then again, no one can do that.

Do Steve Martin and Carol Burnett have something to tell us?
September 16th, 2024 under Do they have something to tell us?, Meryl Streep, Steve Martin. [ Comments: none ]

Martin Short has Meryl Streep, so does Steve Martin have Carol Burnett? This photo from yesterday’s Emmys seems to suggest that. But alas, it is just two legends admiring each other.

While they don’t have anything to tell us…yet I hope that Dan Foggleman makes Burnett’s dream of working with Streep come true and casts her for the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building. The funny lady can play the Oscar winner’s eccentric, rich aunt who needs to live with Loretta Durkin because she is getting older and can’t take care of herself anymore.

Would you tune in to watch that?

Retro: Did you know that Steve Martin’s balls can sing?
August 15th, 2024 under David Letterman, Steve Martin. [ Comments: none ]

It has been nine years since David Letterman ended his run on The Late Show, but they are still sharing clips from his late night talk show.

Today, they posted an interview with Steve Martin from 2001. Before the Only Murders star sat down with Letterman, he did a ballsy performance. As in his testicles sang Mister Sandman, and they sent me a dream. So, good night, sweetheart. Good night!

Too bad you can’t do that on television anymore.

Only Murders in the Building S4 is going to be twice the madness!
August 13th, 2024 under Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin. [ Comments: none ]

We are two weeks away from an all-new season of Only Murders in the Building, and today, we got to see what we can expect from season 4.

Charles, Oliver and Mabel wrestle with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki. Questioning whether Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, our trio’s investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles, where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As our amateur sleuths race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey – traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.

And it will be twice as funny as Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, and the Hollywood movie doubles are going to try to solve this season’s murder.

Only Murders will drop three episodes on August 27th and one a week after that on Hulu until the season finale.

Steve Martin turns down playing VP candidate Tim Walz on SNL
August 7th, 2024 under Saturday Night Live, Steve Martin. [ Comments: none ]

Saturday Night Live asked Maya Rudolph to play Presidential candidate Kamala Harris until the election. Now they need someone to play her Vice Presidential choice, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Well, people think that Steve Martin would be the perfect choice, so much so that Lorne Michaels asked him if he wanted to do it.

Not only did the head of SNL but so did The LA Times. So what did Martin tell Michaels, “I said, ‘Lorne, I’m not an impressionist. You need someone who can really nail the guy.’ I was picked because I have gray hair and glasses.”

The comedian added, “It’s not like you do it once and get applause and never do it again. Again, they need a real impressionist to do that. They’re going to find somebody really, really good. I’d be struggling.”

So, who do you think SNL should get to play the role? I think Jason Alexander would be great!
