James Corden said goodbye to late night television yesterday. But before he signed off from The Late Late Show, he was visited by the Ghosts of Late Night Present: Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Fallon in his bedroom.
They instructed him that he cannot share the late night secrets with the world. But, they also showed him a glimpse of his future, thanks to the Ghost of Late Night Past, David Letterman.
And if that was not enough, we got a glimpse of what his life will be like in six months. And he is not going to be alone because Trevor Noah got visited by the same Ghosts.
This was a brilliant idea, and I am happy they all agreed to do it. But I have one question, where was Conan O’Brien???
This is Trevor Noah’s last week as the host of The Daily Show. So, today, Comedy Central announced who will be sitting in his former seat starting on January 17th.
They are Al Franken, Chelsea Handler, D.L. Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, and Marlon Wayan,s along with TDS correspondents and contributors.
I have a feeling that they are going to use guest hosts from now until the end of the season. Then by September, they will pick a permanent host. That is if they renew the series.
If they renew the news show, who would you like to be the new anchor? My first choice would be Jordan Klepper.
At the end of last month, Trevor Noah announced that he was leaving The Daily Show. Today, Comedy Central revealed when his last day will be. His final newscast will be on December 8th.
“Trevor is an incredible talent who has left an indelible mark on The Daily Show, and we’re grateful for his creative partnership over the past seven years,” said Chris McCarthy, President & CEO, Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios.
The show will take a month off to reinvent itself and resume production on January 17th. Further details of the reinvention will be revealed in the future.
It has been 7 years since Trevor Noah started hosting The Daily Show, and he made a big decision. He announced on the Comedy Central show tonight that he is leaving.
The anchor didn’t say when he is leaving nor what he will be doing next. And I am sure we will get more information as time goes on.
My first thought is that he would be taking over The Late Late Show from James Corden, who is also departing from his late night show.
It has been an interesting week for Trevor Noah and Kanye West, and it isn’t ending the way they thought.
On Tuesday night, Trevor Noah made an impassioned plea that we should be more supportive of abused women like Kim Kardashian. If someone like Kim cannot protect herself from her estranged husband, Kanye West, how can the average woman do it?
Well, when Kanye heard about what Noah said, he used racial slurs against the host of The Daily Show on Instagram. There were so many complaints about it on Instagram that Meta suspended West for 24 hours over it and his other posts.
That seemed like it would have been the end of it, but it was not. Late yesterday, The Grammys told Kanye he is no longer welcomed. According to The Blast, insiders of the music awards show said they did it because of “concerning online behavior.”
However, they didn’t add that “concerning online behavior” was towards the show’s host, Noah. So, almost everyone can understand their decision. I would do the same.
