Have you been wondering what the full version of Jabba Flow from Star Wars: The Force Awakens sounds like? Well not only did Lin-Manuel Miranda and J.J. Abrams perform the song they wrote outside the backstage door of Hamilton, Lucasfilm made it available to download on iTunes.
What a wonderful present from them to us on May the Fourth Be With You. So party like you are at Maz Kanata’s castle because you know you want to.
Today is Star Wars Day aka May the Fourth Be With You. Since I am not a big Star Wars fan (the shame), it is hard for me to find the video to commemorate day.
Well, yesterday Conan delivered that video. It was time for their weekly segment of Jordan Schlansky’s Product Review and he reviewed his Darth Vader Helmet.
It is not as much of a tribute to the movie franchise as much as it is to the fans. Watch and you will see what I mean. Just don’t drink or eat anything when you watch it because you will spit it out from laughing so hard.
May the Fourth be with them.
There are some advantages to being the Prince of England, and one of them is getting a tour of the secretive set of Star Wars VIII as it films. Yesterday, Prince William and Prince Harry went to Pinewood Studios and they got to meet BB-8, Luke Skywalker and the rest of the Star Wars cast. Not only that, they got to partake is a lightsaber battle or as Kensington Palace called it, “Time for a @starwars laser battle!” I loved that, but not as much as I enjoyed seeing Prince Harry smiling from ear to ear as a he got a big Wookie hug from Chewbacca.
Seriously, isn’t it so nice to see the two Princes look as happy as little boys? Who wouldn’t if given that same opportunity?
Mark Hamill has starred in four of the biggest films of all time, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now, I know he had a very small part in the latest film of the franchise, but you would think a Disney employee, the company that produced it, would know who Mark Hamill aka Luke Skywalker is. And you would be wrong? The person who made him a security pass, named him Mark Hamilton. Who is Mark Hamilton?
What happened to that employee? We don’t know, but Hamill seems like a cool enough guy, I don’t think he would do anything. But there are a lot of other stars who would not stand for that, like Prince Hans, Gaston, Cruella de Vil or Anakin.
Harrison Ford was on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday to promote the home video version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the ABC late night host wanted to know if it’s true that he has been trying to get Hans Solo killed off for 30 years. The actor admitted that he finally wore them down and that is why his character met his ultimate fate.
Will he back for the last two Star Wars movies? He wouldn’t say.
Then Kimmel wanted to know if he was surprised that his death remained a secret until the film came out. Ford told him, “It is pretty amazing actually. That people, sort of, respected fellow audience members, to the extent that it didn’t get around. It was fantastic.” Then he added, “I think they knew I would show up at their house and beat the sh!t out of them.”
On that note, he also talked about putting on his fedora for a 5th time to play Indiana Jones. When asked if that character would meet the same fate, he was just as tight lipped as he was about whether he would be back for any more Star Wars movies. So we don’t know just yet.
BTW when it comes to Hans Solo’s death, someone spoiled it for me opening weekend and that is a part of the reason why I still haven’t the biggest movie ever released in America. Just don’t tell Ford because I don’t want him beating the sh!t out of the sweet young innocent girl who told me. She doesn’t understand what a spoiler is, so I can’t wait to ruin Bambi, The Lion King and Old Yeller for her.
