The Lakers are charging for Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s memorial service
February 14th, 2020 under Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

On January 26th, Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna, and seven other people were killed in a helicopter accident. The world was devastasted over the news, no place more than Los Angeles and fans of his basketball team.

On February 24th, The LA Lakers will hold a memorial service at Staples Center, the home he built. Today, the NBA announced how people can get tickets for the event and how much they will cost.

From today until Monday, February 17th, at 10 pm PT fans may register to purchase tickets at https://verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com/kobeandgianna. Then on Tuesday, you will find out if you have been selected to purchase any of the available tickets.

How much do they cost? They are asking for $224 each, 2 for $224 and $24.02 each, and you will have to purchase them through Ticketmaster. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.

The Lakers strongly encourage people not to go down to the Staples area on that day unless they have a verified ticket. In order to discourage a crowd, they said the service “will not be shown on any video screens or by any other means outside of STAPLES Center, including the L.A. LIVE video screens.” There also will not be an overflow area to watch the event. It will be available to watch on your TVs at home or a sports bar.

When it comes to why everything is 2 and 24 related, the 2 is for Gianna’s number and 24 for her father’s.

I think it should be free like Michael Jackson’s memorial service was. It was a great tribute to the singer and it was calm inside and outside of the arena.

Derrick Nnadi is the true MVP of the KC Chiefs and KC pets!

Derrick Nnadi was so excited that the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl yesterday that he made confetti angels on the field. Turns out, he is also an angel when he is standing on all two paws.

After the game, the Defensive Tackle made a phone call that will change hundreds of lives. He called up the KC Pet Project and made them an offer they could not refuse. The animal shelter wrote, “KC WINS! We are so excited to announce that the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, Derrick Nnadi is choosing to celebrate the Super Bowl win by paying for the adoptions of all the adoptable dogs currently at KC Pet Project!

We have had an amazing, season-long, partnership with Derrick and he couldn’t have thought of a better ending.”

Since the news of his generosity broke, the no-kill shelter say, “44 pets left the shelter today (38 dogs and 6 cats) with new families and up to 30 more are going home tomorrow! Of the 109 dogs that qualified for the sponsorship, around 40-50 of those dogs will still be available after tomorrow, which is incredible.” Beyond incredible and at least one of those best friends better be named after their benefactor.

If you want to adopt (never shop) one of the remaining pups, then you can see them here.

The 23-year-old already has the Derrick Nnadi Foundation that not only helps pets, but also children in both Kansas City, Missouri and his hometown Virginia Beach, Virgina. Like I said, he is an angel. Even if he did got to Florida State. Nnadi is one to watch and I cannot wait to see what else he does on and off of the field.

How boring was the Super Bowl?
February 2nd, 2020 under J-Lo, Shakira, Sports figures, Super Bowl. [ Comments: none ]

Maybe it was because the New England Patriots were not in the Super Bowl, but it was a real snoozefest. How much of one? Some fan fell asleep during the game before the half time show. Maybe he was just trying to rest up for Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s performance. What man didn’t rise up for that show?

In this guy’s defense, the only time I ever fell asleep during an event was during a Rod Stewart concert in the Miami Arena. (He was my third concert in as 48 hours.) That town will eat you up and spit you out. I miss living there.

Talking about Miami, I hope WSVN’s Patrick Fraser finds out who that guy was and why he was sleeping during the football game. If anyone can get all the details, it is him.

If you need something to wake up, then you can rewatch Shakira and J-Lo. To see them move their hips all over again, then click here!

Strangely enough, both Los Angeles basketball teams were supposed to play each other tomorrow, but they have decided to postpone the game in honor of losing one of the city’s greatest players of all time.

The NBA wrote, “The National Basketball Association game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Clippers scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Staples Center has been postponed. The decision was made out of respect for the Lakers organization, which is deeply grieving the tragic loss of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

While the Lakers added, “The Los Angeles Lakers would like to thank all of you for the tremendous outpouring of support and condolences. This is a very difficult time for all of us. We continue to support the Bryant family and will share more information as it is available.”

The game will be rescheduled for a later date.
