Loretta Lynn might be 85 years old, but that hasn’t stopped her from touring. Yesterday, she was forced to postpone her show and her people explained why on her site.
American country music legend Loretta Lynn was admitted into a hospital in Nashville Thursday night after she suffered a stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
She is currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery.
Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating. Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed.
Her people are expecting her to be back on the road because they told her fans, who had tickets to the postponed shows, to check her site for the new dates. Here’s to hoping she is back doing what she loves in no time.
Five days ago Charlotte Rae turned 91 years young, but last Monday her doctors gave her some bad news. The beloved actress told People that they told her she was diagnosed with bone cancer.
She also told them that about 7 years ago, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The Facts of Life star opted to through six months of chemo and was cancer free after the treatment. That was then, she says, “So now, at the age of 91, I have to make up my mind. I’m not in any pain right now. I’m feeling so terrific and so glad to be above ground.” She continued her thought, “Now I have to figure out whether I want to go have treatment again to opt for life. I love life. I’ve had a wonderful one already. I have this decision to make.”
Even though she is a nonagenarian, she is still as feisty as ever. I hope she decides to fight it, but the decision is up to her. Whatever she decides, we will be there for her when she needs it.
Tim Daly broke both of his legs while skiing in Sundance and will undergo surgery tomorrow. According to Variety, he will need 6-8 weeks to recover and that is causing the writers of his CBS’s show Madam Secretary to figure out how to deal with the situation. Will they work around him? Will they write it in to the show? Whatever they come up with it, they told the trade that he will still be seen in every episode and that few changes will be needed.
Doesn’t he know it is actors who are supposed to break legs and not the other way around? Seriously though, hopefully he will be better soon.
UPDATE: Tim Daly, 60, just Tweeted this update: “HUMANS!!! Broke my right ankle and left knee skiing. Simultaneously! How’s that for talent? I’m all good.” I have three words, “ouch and ouch!”
They say Cowboys are rough and tumble and Country star Granger Smith proves that statement to be very true. The singer was performing in New Jersey on Friday when he fell off the stage and landed on metal barricade. Instead of waiting for assistance, he got up, made a joke and kept on singing.
After the show, he was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with two broken and separated ribs and a punctured, partially collapsed lung.
Let’s hope he is back on the road again in no time, although it sounds like nothing can keep him down for long.

Tone Loc was performing with the I Love the ’90s Tour in Sioux City when the audience was given quite a scare. The rapper was singing his hit Wild Thing and dancing with several audience members on the stage when it seemed like something was wrong. His people came to hold him up as he was starting to faint and rushed him back stage.
You know the saying, the show must go on? It did for him because after a short while he returned to the stage like a Funky Cold Medina.
How is he doing today? His friend and tourmate Vanilla Ice Tweeted this update, “Tone Loc is fine and doing great. Thanks for you guys concern. He got lightheaded and dizzy, Dehydrated. See you tonight. #ILoveThe90sTour” Thankfully he is OK and going on with the tour.
It has not been a good year for musicians on stage in June Meat Loaf collapsed on stage, in July Joe Perry nearly did before walking off the stage to do it, in August Smash Mouth frontman Steve Harwell did it, in September Eddie Montgomery did the same and finally last week Kanye West walked off the stage after an outburst and was hospitalized two days after that. In fact, according to several sources he is still there with his wife by his side.
Let’s hope that 2017 is better to musicians than 2016 was. What a year it has been for music, so many greats passed away like David Bowie, Prince, Merle Haggard and Leonard Cohen just to name a few.
