Remember when American Idol started in 2002, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson were the judges and Ryan Seacrest was the host? Well, it almost wasn’t that way.
Today, when Seacrest was on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the first American Idol asked him if it was true he was almost a judge on the singing competition.
“Originally, when the producers, Nigel [Lythgoe] and Ken [Warwick], were setting up the show, they heard me on the radio here in Los Angeles, and they thought I might fit the panel to be up there with whoever else was already on,” he told Clarkson. “Wait, a minute. I would love to audition to be the host. And I auditioned eventually to be the host. And I got the job.”
And 21 years later. He still has the job. And he might not still have it if he were a judge instead of a host.
Could you imagine him as a judge? I can’t. So I am happy it didn’t happen.
And can we talk about how Taylor Hicks looks exactly the same? But then again, he looked like an old man back then too.
Adam Lambert was a mentor and performer on last night’s American Idol for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame night. I don’t know why because he will never get in.
Anyways. When Ryan Seacrest needed to chat with the singer, the host had to get a crate in order to do so. I knew Seacrest was little; I just didn’t know he was that little.
But then again, next to Frankenstein in platforms, a lot of us look smaller in the rearview mirror.
Throughout all of these years that Ryan Seacrest has been hosting shows, I have never seen him with a full beard. Stubble, yes. Beard, no.
However, yesterday on American Idol, he showed off his new long thick beard in honor of American Idol contestant Warren Peay.
Who knew he could grow a lot of facial hair? He can’t because that is fake. So do you think he should try to grow a beard? Or do we like him just the way he is?
Before Lauren Ambrose was dancing in Psycho Beach Party, she was singing Dancing in the Streets on Star Search. How amazingly talented was the 11-year-old back in 1990?
Yesterday, the actress was on Live with Kelly and Ryan, and she talked about her television debut.
During the Friends reunion, we found out that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer had crushes on each other when they filmed the sitcom. But they didn’t talk about how it felt when they finally kissed each other.
Yesterday, when the actress was on Live with Kelly and Ryan, the hosts asked her if Rachel and Ross’ kiss was also the actors’ first kiss. And it was. So Kelly Ripa needed to know if it was weird. Without hesitation, Aniston said, “No, it was quite enjoyable!”
And yet, they never hooked up. Could you imagine if they did? It would’ve broken the internet like Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson’s sex tape.
