Amazon Prime has a whale sized news about The Boys
July 24th, 2020 under Netflix, Prime Video. [ Comments: none ]

Amazon Prime announced today at Comic-Con@Home that they picked up The Boys for a third season, a month and a half before season two debuts.

Not only that, Aisha Tyler will be hosting Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys after each episode. Cast members, creatives, and special guests will talk about each episode from the second season after each episode premiere. The after-show will give us some insight into what we just watched. Sometimes we need that explanation because you never know what just happened even though you just saw it with your own eyes.

If you don’t know what that means, watch season one before season two debuts on September 4th, then you will understand what I just said.

Amazon Prime is not the only ones spreading the good news, Netflix picked up Sweet Magnolias for a second season. The show’s star, Joanna Garcia wrote, “I have been counting down the minutes to be able to share the news! @netflix has renewed @sweetmagnoliasnetflix for another season! Each day I read all of your amazing messages and I’m truly humbled. This show has saved me in so many ways and I love that we get to continue telling our story. Thank you @Netflix! Thank you to every single person involved in the making of this special show! And thank all of YOU, for joining us in our little town and shining such a bright light on Serenity. I can promise #sweetmagnoliasS2 will be back with more stories to bring you hope, comfort, drama, and goodness! Until then…#whosinthecar! I swear I don’t know…I would never keep that secret from ya’ll 😉!! Now I’m off to #pouritout!”

Do you think she knows who was in the car? I need to know now too! Want to why we all want to know who was in the car, then watch season one of Netflix. Once you press play on episode one, you won’t hit stop until the final episode concludes. It is an addictive binge.

The third season will be the charm for The Kominsky Method
July 2nd, 2020 under Chuck Lorre, Michael Douglas, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Netflix announced today that they picked up the critically acclaimed The Kominsky Method for a third season. That is the good news, but the sad news is that it will be its’ last season.

The dramedy stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin as two friends who are adjusting to life as they get older. Towards the end of the second season, Douglas was diagnosed with cancer. I bet you the series will end with him dying from it. It is a good way to go out.

Chuck Lorre, who created the show, has this to say about his Golden Globe winning show ending, “’The Kominsky Method’ has been a true passion project for me and it’s been an incredible experience to see the warm response from both audiences and critics. I’m excited to wrap up the story with this final chapter.”

Are you sad that we are only getting one more season?

YouTube waxes off Cobra Kai, Netflix waxes on Cobra Kai
June 22nd, 2020 under Billy Zabka, Netflix, Ralph Macchio. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that YouTube was not going to air the third season of Cobra Kai even though it was already shot. Then Sony announced that they were shopping the series around. Today, we found out that Netflix decided to save the amazing show.

Later on this year, Netflix will begin streaming the first two seasons, and then they will debut the third one sometime after that. I hope they don’t wait too long because fans like me are waiting to find out what happens next in Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny’s (Billy Zabka) saga that has lasted over 35 years, two movies and two streaming services. Very impressive!

Executive Producers Josh Heald, and Jon Hurwitz say that their new home allows them to “explore opportunities to further expand The Karate Kid universe.” I wonder if that means Martin Kove will get his own spinoff? Is it wrong that I would like to see his character exit the Cobra Kai series? It should be easy to do because they set that up in the season two finale. I won’t tell you how because I don’t want to spoil the show for you if you have not seen it yet.

If you have not seen it, then I highly suggest that you stream it as soon as it is on Netflix. It is one of the best shows on television these days. Don’t get me started on the fight scenes. That is normally not my thing, but man, they make this chick go gaga over them.

Carol Baskin gets the last laugh
June 2nd, 2020 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

If you have watched Tiger King on Netflix, then you know that Tampa’s big cat owners Joe Exotic and Carol Baskin, have been feuding for years. Their feud got so bad that he hired a hitman to kill her. Now, he is behind bars for 22 years because of that.

Back in 2013, Exotic lost a $1 million trademark infringement case to Baskin, and never paid her the money. Well, now he is from jail, and he is not going to like the latest development in the case. That is because The Tampa Bay Tribune is reporting that a judge has ruled that Baskin is the now property owner of Exotic’s Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma to pay off the settlement.

The judge further said that Jeff Lowe, his wife, and all of the animalS must be off the property in the next 90 days. Baskin said if they cannot move the animals to their new location in time, she has found places that will take of them. Not in the same way that Exotic did. Besides being in jail for attempting to murder his arch-nemesis, he is also in there for shooting five tigers.

I can’t wait to see this episode play out during the second season of Tiger King.

Watch Jim Parsons go bald for Hollywood
May 7th, 2020 under Jim Parsons, Netflix, Ryan Murphy. [ Comments: none ]

Jim Parsons plays Henry Wilson, a sleazy agent, in Ryan Murphy’s Hollywood on Netflix, and the man he portrayed had a receding hairline. That means that the Big Bang Theory star had to do the same.

How was he going to get that look when he has a full head of hair? Is he going to shave the top of his head? Nope. The makeup department is going to give him a bald spot.

The actor showed us how they did it, and it takes a lot more effort than you would think. So much so, I think he should have just shaved it off.

When it comes to his character, I didn’t see Sheldon Cooper. That is the good news. The bad news is all I saw was Pee Wee Herman. Actually, it was more like Paul Reuben when he was on Murphy Brown.

When it comes to the mini-series, it is an enjoyable binge. It really captured the feel of the era even though the drama took a lot of liberties with the truth. Then again, who hasn’t? After all, that is what Hollywood is all about.
