The night starts off at 8p with an episode of The CW’s Arrow that will leave you gasping every few minutes. Just when you think they can’t shock you anymore they surprise you again. Tommy’s (Colin Donnell) dad Malcolm (John Barrowman) invites his son to an event that he is being honored at, but he hesitates until Oliver (Stephen Amell) convinces him to go after a heart-to-heart conversation. A decision Oliver will later regret because an assassin has his Deadshot (Michael Rowe) eye on taking out Malcolm and Arrow will have to go in to try to save the day. By the end of the night Tommy and Oliver’s friendship will be changed forever and they will not be able to get back to where they were once at. Think that is enough to get you to want more, it is just preparation for the evening’s final reveal… So make sure to tune in for a game changing episode because so much happens that you can’t miss a single shocking moment.
Then at 8:30p NBC’s Guys with Kids stages a Cosby Show reunion when Marny’s (Tempestt Bledsoe) irresponsible younger sister Bridget (Keshia Knight Pulliam) comes for a visit. Instead of just giving her money, Marny decides that her sister should work for her husband to earn the dough. Gary (Anthony Anderson) is against this for obvious reasons. Is he right or will his sister in law actually wind up helping him? Meanwhile Chris (Jesse Bradford) and Sheila (Erinn Hayes) decide to have another baby even though they are divorced. Something his best friend, Nick (Zach Cregger) is vehemently against. Luckily for him Chris’ ex-girlfriend Sage comes back into the picture and now he will have to choose which ex to be with. The season finale ends with Gary singing a Kelly Clarkson song and let’s just say it doesn’t suck and neither does this great episode!
Then at 9p on TNT Donnie Wahlberg honors the people his brother and him spent a lot of unwanted time in their youth with and they are Boston’s Finest. It is inside look at entire Boston Police Department, including patrol officers, detectives, special task forces and members of the SWAT Team, the Fugitive Unit and highly decorated Gang Unit. Besides following them as they fight crime, we get to see what their lives are like when the badge comes off. In a way it is like the reality version Wahlberg’s CBS show, but set in Boston. You really go along for the ride with them and after you watch it you will want to tip your hat to these brave men and women. Wahlberg really gives these people the respect they deserve with this series.
Then at 10p Psych is back on USA and it picks up exactly where it left off. Shawn (James Roday) arrives just as his father Henry (Corbin Bersen) was shot. Now it is up to him to save his dad and get the man responsible for shooting him. Even though Jules (Maggie Lawson) and Lassie (Timothy Omundson) tell Shawn to sit this case out, he doesn’t listen. Will Shawn get himself into a situation he can’t get out of and does his dad survive? You will have to tune into find out!
Finally at 10p Stranded makes it debut on Syfy at 10p and this is an interesting twist on ghost hunter shows. Each week four everyday people will be sent to a location for 5 days to investigate if it is really haunted. They will be cut off from the world meaning no phones, no computers and no way to leave, and they will have nothing to do to but find out if there are any ghosts with them. They will be given the equipment to find out if they are alone or not and what they discover will not only spook them, it will do the same to you. I loved Stranded so much that when it gets picked up for a second season, I am so going to try to be on it.
Earlier this week Do No Harm wrapped production on its season, but those episodes will not see the light of day like the lead’s alter because NBC has cancelled the show after two airings according to EW. The show had the lowest debut ratings in the history of the Big 4 and did even worst yesterday. So the decision makes sense. Hopefully the remaining episodes will play out on Netflix or somewhere else at some point.
Law & Order: SVU will replace the show for the next two weeks and then I would assume that Grimm would take that slot that has been grim since ER ended its run.
Up All Night’s rating have been so bad that NBC decided to change the way the show tapes its episode. Instead of taping it like a drama, they have been on hiatus to retool the show so that when it comes back it would be filmed in front of a live studio audience. Well today Deadline is reporting that Christina Applegate is leaving the show. She said, “It’s been a great experience working on Up All Night, but the show has taken a different creative direction and I decided it was best for me to move on to other endeavors,†Then she added, “Working with Lorne Michaels has been a dream come true and I am grateful he brought me into his TV family. I will miss the cast, producers and crew, and wish them the best always.â€
At this point the show’s future in unknown, but according to Deadline one solution is to have Lisa Kudrow join the show. I say with the ratings that it has been getting, it is better to pull the plug than trying to make it work. I don’t know why NBC is doing everything they can to save this show, I think we can all agree it is time it went to a better place.
After months of delays, Community is finally back on our TVs tonight at 8p on NBC. The gang is ready to begin their senior year, but some are happier about it then others. Well when Greendale’s records are lost, the Dean decides that everyone should start over making some sadder than others. So looks like this show won’t be going any where any time soon because there is so much more school left for our favorite community college students.
BTW there is so much fun stuff that happens tonight, but NBC told me I can’t tell you about it. But I will say you to tune in so you can see what I can’t talk about.
Do No Harm debuts at 10p on NBC tonight and you don’t want to miss this medical drama with twist!
Dr Jason Cole (Steven Pasquale) is a top neurosurgeon with a big secret. For the last five years he has been able to have alter personality suppressed with medicine, but that quick fix is no longer working. Now at 8:25p every night Ian Price takes over his body and doesn’t give it back to him for the next 12 hours. So by day he is a doctor doing good, but by night he is the complete opposite. Cole is doing everything he can to get rid of Price and Price is doing everything he can to f*ck with Cole.
As show creator David Schulner put it, “Ian’s a little bit like a cat. The cat wants to play with that mouse. He doesn’t want to kill it because what fun would that be? So Ian’s going to do a lot of stuff to Jason.” Then he added, “And then what’s great about Jason’s character Steve’s other character, is Jason’s just as smart as Ian is and is sometimes two steps ahead of Ian, so there’s traps in place. There’s safeguards, there’s fail-safes. So it’s a constant cat and mouse chess game between the two of them. But Ian is not toothless. There’s a true danger to him. He’s truly menacing, and that’s why Jason’s character needs to get rid of him.”
So playing two characters on one show can get kind of confusing for someone, so Pasquale explained how they keep him sane on the set. He said, “I have to credit the prop department because when we’re shooting a Jason scene, they make sure my chair says ‘Jason Cole.’ And when we’re shooting an Ian scene, my chair says ‘Ian Price.'” How many actors can say they require two chairs on the set and get away with it?
Not only does Pasquale have two chairs, he has two different personalities on the show and he plays them off so well. You know how some actors can only play the same role over and over again? Well Pasquale is playing two completely roles then he played on Rescue Me. In fact it such a 360, I was so blown away by how good he is on this show. He was great on Rescue Me, but he has kicked up a few notches on this show!
So between his acting and the theme of the show, I am sure you will be as hooked on it as I am.
