Young & Hungry and Baby Daddy bring the funny, Night Shift brings the drama
June 1st, 2016 under Baby Daddy, Freeform, NBC, Young and Hungry. [ Comments: none ]

Young & Hungry takes flight with a new episode tonight and you don’t want to miss the series’ funniest episode to date. The episode picks up right where it left and Gabi is stuck on the plane with Josh and his psychiatrist. When Gabi sees the two of them together, she assumes the worse and decides not to tell him that she is in love with him. Now she has no alternative but to go to Australia because she doesn’t have enough miles or cash to fly back to San Fransisco.
She calls Sofia from the plane and tells her everything that happened. Adam (Tyler Ritter) overhears the conversation and makes Gabi an offer she can’t refuse. His fiancee left him at the alter and he is on his way to his honeymoon in Hawaii. The hotel where he is staying is couples only. If Gabi pretends to be his wife during the stay, he will buy her a ticket back to San Fran. Of course she says yes! Will this fake couple become a real one?
Also staying at this couples only hotel is Elliot (Rex Lee), his husband Alan (Brian Safi) and Yolanda (Kym Whitley). When they find out the hotel’s policy, they pretend to all be a couple. The hotel is trying to bring in that demographic, so they give them three nights free if they can use them to promote the hotel. Will they get away with it?
So much more happens in this episode that you don’t want to miss. Plus is a laugh riot and who doesn’t need to laugh?

Then at 8:30p, Baby Daddy is back and they make a strong case to watch it. The episode starts off shortly after where it left off.
Ben (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) is dealing with Zoey’s baby daddy coming back in to her life and her dumping him for her former boyfriend. Something that will lead to both men going to jail.
But it is Danny (Derek Theler) who will wind up in court. Riley (Chelsea Kane) is suing him for not telling her that he slept with Sam when they were in high school.
Will the Wheeler brothers get their women back or will their mom (Melissa Peterman) be the only woman in their life? Tune in for another episode that will have you laughing from the beginning until the end.

Then at 10p, The Night Shift is back on NBC with an intense two parter.
The episode starts off with a man looking for his young son that he says his wife brought in. When the hospital doesn’t have any record of the boy, they realize the mother was brought unconscious and the boy is missing. Now they have to find him before it is too late. Then when they do, there will be a reveal you will never ever see coming.
They were not the only ones in the accident, a Lesbian couple, who were fighting at the time, were also injured. One woman is OK, but the other one is not looking like she is going to survive. Doctors finally diagnose what is wrong with her and it has nothing to do with the accident. Can they save her?
Dr. Drew Alister (Brendan Fehr) is stationed over in Afghanistan when a very young pregnant woman comes in with complications. Her husband is an Afghan soldier and he refuses for her to be looked at by them. Dr. Syd Jennings (Jennifer Beals) tries to convince Drew to release her, but it doesn’t work. Now the two of them are in trouble with not only the Afghan military, but their own. What are their consequences?
Then when all of this is resolved next week, the following week’s episode is very powerful. When a White man, who is on trial for killing a Black man, comes in for treatment, the hospital is plagued by protestors. The whole city is filled with riots and several of our doctors will take it to the streets trying to help the injured. An injured White office shot a Black teen and now they have to decide who will go to the hospital first. After they decide, the remaining victim and the doctors will be trapped with no help in sight. Can they save that life and more importantly their own. It is a must not miss episode.
Actually all of The Night Shift episodes are must not miss, so watch it tonight and every Wednesday this summer.

NBC’s Fall schedule is…
May 15th, 2016 under NBC, Nick Cannon. [ Comments: none ]

Before I talk about the fall schedule, the good news is that The Carmichael Show hasn’t been cancelled, the bad news is that hasn’t picked up either. NBC and 20th Century Fox are negotiating how episodes they will be doing next season. Fingers crossed it will be back. UPDATE: The Carmichael Show was picked up for a 13 episode 3rd season!
I don’t understand why NBC is not doing a Dick Wolf night on Tuesdays. I liked having Chicago Med and Chicago Fire on the same night and I hate that they are separated on two different nights in the fall. Blindspot is in trouble because it is not an 8p show. But I guess NBC wants to do a grittier Wednesday nights.
When it comes to the new shows, if Timeless is as exciting as its trailer, then they have a hit on their hand. This Is Us should do OK, not great and not awful. It will have a core audience that will watch every week like their old show Parenthood. Then there’s The Good Place that is in a bad place. It will have the same fate as Angel From Hell, it looks like the same crap, different network and stars,
What do you think of the trailers.

MONDAY
8-10 P.M. — “The Voice”
10-11 P.M. — “TIMELESS”

TUESDAY
8-9 P.M. — “The Voice”
9-10 P.M. — “THIS IS US”
10-11 P.M. — “Chicago Fire”

WEDNESDAY
8-9 P.M. — “Blindspot”
9-10 P.M. — “Law & Order: SVU”
10-11 P.M. — “Chicago P.D.”

THURSDAY
8-8:30 P.M. — “Superstore”
8:30-9 P.M. — “THE GOOD PLACE”
9-10 P.M. — “Chicago Med”
10-11 P.M. — “The Blacklist”

FRIDAY
8-9 P.M. — “Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon”
9-10 P.M. — “Grimm”
10-11 P.M. — “Dateline NBC”

NBC breaks up with Undateable
May 13th, 2016 under Bill Lawrence, Fox, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHARk7wFWO4
NBC had a great comedy with Undateable, but they just didn’t know how to promote it. They tried to by making it live, but then buried it on Fridays. The show just never had the support it needed. One season, it’s launched in the summer, then the next midseaon and finally the fall. People just didn’t know when to tune in because there was no consistency and no other strong sitcoms to pair it up with.
I am sure that everyone, who worked on the show, will land on their feet. I will just miss them. Someone give Bill Lawrence another show ASAP because he is the most caring Executive Producer out there who really cares about his show and the show’s fan. That and he knows humor!
Although, Lawrence just Tweeted that he will be shopping the show around and I pray someone buys it.
Undateable wasn’t the only show NBC broke up with today. They are no longer seeing Heartbeat, Crowded, Telenovela and Game of Silence. Heartbeat is their biggest loss of that bunch, another great show that was on the wrong network.
Talking about other networks. While ABC listened to the outraged fans and cancelled Castle after they lost one of the people who made up the show’s duo, Fox didn’t. Sleepy Hollow was renewed for a fourth season, even though the viewers were pissed that they killed off Nicole Beharie. That show, more than Castle, was built on the chemistry of the leads. Without that, the show will be deader than the Headless Horseman. I can’t wait to see how horrific the ratings will be for it.

Strong is strong, Flip for Nashville Flipped
April 13th, 2016 under NBC, Sylvester Stallone. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2ty8v8cvkE
Tonight at 9p on NBC, 10 women will be paired with 10 of the country’s top physical trainers all in an effort to become Strong.
The episode starts off with the women having to choose which trainer to work with. How will they know who to pick? Each of the trainers will compete in a test. They will have to break through a concrete chamber in order to get a pulley so that they can lift 500lbs. When they are all done with the challenge, the women randomly pick which man they want to work with.
As soon as the teams are selected, they compete in their first challenge. They will have to work together in order to win. The winner not only moves on to the next week, they get to pick which team goes up against that challenge’s last place team in the elimination chamber.
That is when things get ugly. Believe it or not, the men on the show are more catty than the women. In fact, in the first two episodes that air tonight, you will see how bitchy they are about going to the elimination chamber.
Now back to the elimination chamber, it is a four story torture course that is grueling to complete. The winner moves on and the loser… Well you have to watch, in order to find what happens to them.
The women are not only doing this to become strong, they are also doing it for a $500,000 cash prize. Hey money talks.
Strong is not normally the type of Reality competition I watch, but I really liked watching the Sylvester Stallone and Gabrielle Reece show. I enjoy watching the women transform and the men act like bitches for once.

Then at 10p on DIY Network is Nashville Flipped. Nashville is a charming town with charming houses, but some of them have lost their charm. That is where Troy Dean Shafer comes in. He buys the house, asses what he can do with them to make them habitable and more modern, works his magic and then sells it for a profit.
Tonight he bought a rundown bungalow for $105,000, will spend $90,000 to fix it up and then plans on selling it for $250,000. When you see the house, you think it is a complete tear down. But his designer friend Alex Cirimelli and him think they can turn this trashed 1932 Craftsman style bungalow into a 2016 dream home.
So they get hammers and start demolishing the place in order to find the charm underneath. That wouldn’t be so bad, if the house wasn’t full of crap. Something they especially discover when they remove the toilet. Yeah.
Anyways, once they get to the core of the house, they find out the staircase is not up to code and needs to come down. This actually helps them out because now they can move it to a much more convenient location, Only problem is it is a cost they weren’t expecting.
As Shafer paints the house, Cirimelli searches for things to put in it. Together they turn this eyesore into a beautiful home that anyone would want to own.
I have to admit I have never watched a show like this before, and now I see why people get hooked on this. The transformation is amazing and they do it so fast. Why can’t the contractors we hire be as fast as them? And do as good of a job.

How will Heartbeat handle Conjoined Twins who don’t want to be separated?
March 23rd, 2016 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8p on NBC’s Heartbeat, Conjoined Twins (Justina Machado) come in because one of them is feeling sick. Alex (Melissa George) finds out that one of them has cancer and the other one doesn’t. Only problem is that the healthy twin has a bad heart and can’t handle her sister’s chemotherapy. The only way to save them is to separate them. After spending their whole lives together, they can’t imagine life apart. The doctor explains to them, if the sick sister doesn’t get chemo she will die and so will the healthy one. But if they are separated, they can both live. They tell her that they would rather die.
Will she be able to convince them to go through with the separation or will this episode have a very sad ending.
You don’t want to miss this hour of television that is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Make sure to have the tissues ready because you are going to need them. It is a real tearjerker that you don’t want to miss.
Heartbeat is a medical drama with a lot of heart. More so than the other ones that are currently on television. It’s a perfect mix of Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Med and House.
