Matt Dillon is Sylvester Stallone’s dad

Sylvester Stallone is 17 years older than Matt Dillon. However, the latter is going to play the former’s father in I Play Rocky, a movie about how an unknown Sly brought the boxing classic to life.

Frank Stallone Sr. immigrated from Italy to the United States when he was a teenager. Sly said that the successful hairdresser was an abusive father, and he sought his approval while he was alive. So much so that he cast his father in a minor role in the Oscar-winning movie.

According to Deadline, Dillon is joining the previously announced cast, Stephan James as Carl Weathers, and AnnaSophia Robb will play Stallone’s first wife.

It sounds like they don’t have a Rocky, so who do you think should play him? I say Matt’s younger brother, Kevin, would be perfect! After all, Sly looked so much older than he was when he made Rocky, and the Entourage star looks so much younger than his years.

At 67, Samuel L. Jackson leads his first television series
July 17th, 2025 under Samuel L Jackson, Sylvester Stallone. [ Comments: none ]

Brian Douglas/Paramount+

Samuel L. Jackson has been leading movies for decades, but he has never led a TV show. That is until now. He has been cast in Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King spinoff, NOLA King, on Paramount+.

“Chris McCarthy came to me with a game-changing idea: to elevate my show beyond a mob boss series, creating a dynamic, family-driven franchise,” said Sylvester Stallone. “I was immediately on board. Sam Jackson is the only choice to anchor this new adventure in NOLA and David Glasser and 101 are the perfect partner to bring it to life.”

NOLA King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson) who, after befriending Dwight Manfredi (Stallone) during a ten-year stint in federal prison, is sent to Tulsa by New York’s Renzetti crime family to take Dwight out once and for all. Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned forty-years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family and friends, and to take control of the city he left behind. In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop.

We will meet Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., during the upcoming season of Tulsa King.

Donald Trump picks Sylvester Stallone and two other asses as his Hollywood Ambassadors
January 16th, 2025 under Donald Trump, Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone. [ Comments: none ]

Unfortunately, Mr. Adult Diapers will become president on Monday, and he is building up his staff.

Today, he announced who will be his Hollywood Ambassadors. And you know they will only be the best.

“It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” he wrote. “They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”

Yeah, Hollywood is going to listen to those three stooges. Stallone has been downgraded to television, and the others have just been downgraded. When was the last time they worked?

Poor James Woods, Dean Cain, Scott Baio, and Kristy Swanson, they aren’t even good enough for him these days. That is pretty sad.

Tulsa King is the role that Sylvester Stallone was born to play
August 15th, 2024 under Sylvester Stallone. [ Comments: none ]

Some people might say that Sylvester Stallone was born to play Rocky or Rambo, but I say Tulsa King is the part he was always meant to play. But then again, Oscar is my favorite film of his.

Anyways, on September 15th, he will be back as Dwight on Paramount+. Today, the streamer finally released the trailer for the anticipated second season.

In season two, Dwight (Stallone) and his crew continue to build up and defend their growing empire in Tulsa, but just as they get their bearings, they realize that they’re not the only ones who want to stake their claim. With looming threats from the Kansas City mob and a very powerful local businessman, Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York.

So add that to your calendars because you don’t want to miss a single second.

If you missed the first season, you can stream it today on Paramount+.
