The Avengers is out now in a Blu-ray Combo Pack and you are going to want to own this year’s biggest movie so you can watch it whenever you want!
I can review the movie that everyone enjoyed, but because everyone has seen it why bother.
What I can tell you, is that owning this Blu-ray Combo Pack is even more special because of all of the special features:
Audio Commentary by Director Joss Whedon
Featurette: Assembling the Ultimate Team
Featurette: A Visual Journey Eight Deleted scenes
Marvel One-Shot: Item 47 (short film)
Second screen
Gag reel
Soundgarden music video – “Live to Riseâ€
The Featurette that explains how everyone met and worked together on the blockbuster is really cool because it gives you an inside look what it was like on work on the film. Then the next featurette tells how they came up with the sets for the movie and what was the inspiration for the Shield Helicarrier. They really put a lot of thought in it as we all saw when watching the movie.
On a SHEILD note, we get to see a little teaser of what could be Item 47. It is a fun short that stars Jesse Bradford and Lizzy Caplan. The deleted scenes help us learn more about Maria Hill, who wasn’t seen enough in the movie. We also get more of a back story for Captain America and that helps set him in The Avengers even more. Finally who doesn’t love a good gag reel, especially one that includes Robert Downey Jr.
So what more can I tell you to own the must have Blu-ray of the year? Nothing, so go order it already!
To say that The Avengers kicked box office’s a$$ this weekend would be an understatement because the movie did so well it broke a bunch of records. The Marvel Comics movie grossed $200.3 million domestically. That makes it the highest debut for any movie in the US and it doesn’t stop there. It was also the fastest movie to make $200 million, it took only three days to reach that goal. While on Friday, it was only able to say it was the second highest money maker on a Friday, but on Saturday it took that day’s title with $69.7.
Is anyone shocked that the movie that brought Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Loki and Black Widow together did so well? I think the only movie that could top it would be if DC Comics did a movie with Spider-Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, Robin, Cat Woman and Superman together for a flick.
Now that The Avengers had a good weekend, will it be able to top James Cameron’s Avatar and Titanic for the biggest grossing movie ever in the US? I am hoping it does, so let’s all go see it again so that it can take that title.
BTW Joss Whedon is having a very good year between this movie and Cabin in the Woods. Maybe now Hollywood will let him do whatever he wants. Do I hear Buffy, Angel or Firefly in his future???
The trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger is out and I am not sure I want to see the movie when it comes out on July 22. There is just something about it that just doesn’t make me go wow. Hopefully they will do a better job with the second trailer because the first part of the movie looks like a snooze after the first one.
I guess Joaquin Phoenix wasn’t serious when he said he was retiring from acting because according to CHUD he is considering taking on the role in The Avengers. Ed Norton was mistakenly released from the film and that is who they are thinking of replacing him. When I think of Bruce Banner I think of Ed Norton, when I think of The Hulk I think of Joaquin Phoenix unshaven and rapping.
Plus I just think the way that he said that he turned his back on Hollywood and retired, he needs to work way his back into the biz and not be handed such a great role for his return the big screen. But that is just me.
