Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon tried to prove that they are two different people. However, they did the opposite. Now, I can’t tell which one is which. Can you tell who hosts Jimmy Kimmel Live and who hosts The Tonight Show?
Jimmy Kimmel is back in Brooklyn this week taping his show, and there was something the ABC host had to do. If you get into a NYC cab, then you might hear a message from him. Thankfully, there is a mute button if you want to silence him like the lambs.
When he heard that a lot of the passengers were muting him, he decided to get revenge on a few of them that did that. He rented a bus and followed behind a taxi that would be playing his video. The only thing is that this one was live and not pre-taped. Therefore, he interacted with the unsuspecting riders. How would the New Yawkers deal with him when they can’t shut him up? Better than I would, which makes me wonder what happened to my city?
Last week, there were rumors that Joaquin Phoenix was so in character on the set of Joker that he was hard to work with. Of course, no one would go on record about it.
Yesterday, when the actor was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the ABC host asked him what it was like working on the film. He said it was a “light set” and director Todd Phillips “is really funny.” Then he added, “I feel almost guilty but we had a really good time.”
Kimmel then told his guest that was “interesting to hear” because Phillips sent the show an outtake of Phoenix bitching out the cinematographer Lawrence Sher. Since you cannot just say something like that and not show the clip, they showed the clip.
When the rant ended, Phoenix seemed to be embarrassed that that private video was shared with the show and the show, in turn, shared it with everyone. After stumbling to find the words to express his reaction to it, he finally apologized to Sher. However, he said that Sher was at fault for whispering a lot causing him to lose concentration and the mood he created for his character.
Since this is Kimmel and Phoenix, I am not sure I believe this video was real. It would not surprise me if they faked it to make people sympathize with him so he can be the second actor to win an Oscar for playing the Joker. What do you think?
Also, do you think he is starting to look like Mel Gibson?
On Sunday night, the Emmys did their In Memoriam and showed old photos and videos of the recently deceased. There was only one problem, instead of using a photo of the late Composer Andre Previn, they used one of Conductor Leonard Slatkin.
How does Slatkin feel about being killed off by the Emmys? Jimmy Kimmel found him in Ireland and asked him that very question and several more. When the ABC late night host asked him if he is dead, he told him, “Some people might wish that especially my conductor colleagues.: Then he added, Nope, I was really quite shocked to learn that in giving their best to Andre Previn, they wound up giving their worst to me.”
How did he find out he made the Emmys? He woke up at 4a to check the baseball scores, he looked on the computer, “and all of a sudden I see, ‘Oh, I knew Andre was gone a few months ago and now apparently me too.'”
Talking about computers, he got several messages from people checking on him to make sure he is still alive. Which made him wonder, “Why are they sending me messages if they think I am gone?” Which is a really good question.
How does Slatkin think his friend would have reacted? He thinks Previn is laughing in his grave. Slatkin just wishes his friend could have gotten a proper sendoff from the Emmys.
When it comes to the Academy, they released this statement to The Hollywood Reporter about the mess up, “The producers for the 71st Emmy Awards, the Television Academy and Fox sincerely apologize for this error. All In Memoriam mentions on the Television Academy’s website feature accurate imagery of Mr. Previn.”
I think as an apology to Slatkin, they should have him conduct the Emmys next year! Actually, I just want to watch him at work. He makes me laugh!
This is not the first time this happened during an In Memoriam. Back in 2017, Australian producer Jan Chapman was mistaken for her late friend Janet Patterson.
Over the weekend, Comedy Central roasted Alec Baldwin and there were not a lot of nice things to say about him and the dais. That is just the way the Roasts are.
However, Jimmy Kimmel wondered what would happen if they were nice to everyone even Courtney Love. Therefore, he held one with Henry Winkler, the nicest guy in Hollywood, as the host to see what it would be like.
What did we learn? Nice is boring, we want them to be mean! And also funny. Mostly funny.
When it comes to The Fonz, I would love to see someone Roast him. But how can you be to mean to him? He is just so gosh darn nice.
