Who did The Rock’s mom want to play her on Young Rock?
February 11th, 2021 under Jimmy Fallon, The Rock. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday, The Rock was on The Tonight Show to talk about his bio-pictom Young Rock. Jimmy Fallon mentioned to his guest how good the casting is when it comes to the people who play his parents.

However, if his mother had her choice, she would be played by Jennifer Lopez. Personally, I think Ata Johnson is so much prettier on the inside and outside. Thus, I think that Stacey Leilua is a much better choice.

Don’t believe me that Ata deserves better than J-Lo? Then listen to her play a ukelele for the NBC late night host.

I think she and DJ should go on the road with their act. I would pay to see them singing together as she played the ukelele. Although, they should not have his youngest daughter, Tiana, do the setlist. It would be the same Mohana song over and over again.

Young Rock premieres this Tuesday on NBC at 8p. You don’t want to miss it because the series is as lovable as DJ.

BTWF: Ricky Martin for Orange Crush
December 15th, 2020 under Before They Were Famous, Jimmy Fallon, Ricky Martin. [ Comments: none ]

Before girls all over the World had a crush on Ricky Martin when he was in Menudo, he was drinking Orange Crush. How awwwwdorable was the 7-year-old in that 1979 commercial?

To hear that story on how he landed that ad, watch what he told Jimmy Fallon yesterday on The Tonight Show.

Jimmy Fallon reworks the Saved By the Bell theme song with the core four
December 15th, 2020 under Jimmy Fallon, Mario Lopez, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Saved by the Bell/City Guys, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen. [ Comments: none ]

Remember when Jimmy Fallon reunited the core four from Saved By the Bell back in 2015 on The Tonight Show? Well, he did it again yesterday.

Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar each had their own special part in Fallon’s new take of the theme song. I don’t know about you, but that got me so excited. Mostly because you can tell they were all having fun representing who their characters were on the beloved ’90s sitcom.

Jimmy Fallon and Andrew Rannells’ Broadway musical tribute to 2020
December 8th, 2020 under Andrew Rannells, Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon and Andrew Rannells reworked some of Broadway’s hugest hits to describe all of the huge hits we got from 2020.

The two men sang 2020 versions of songs from West Side Story (America), Little Shop of Horrors (Suddenly Seymour), The Sound of Music (Sixteen Going on Seventeen), The Book of Mormon (Hello), Wicked (Defying Gravity), A Chorus Line (One), Cats (Memory), Dreamgirls (And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going), Fiddler on the Roof (Tradition), Hairspray (You Can’t Stop the Beat), West Side Story (Maria), Hamilton (My Shot), and I Believe the last one is from The Book of Mormon. All together, it told the story of how crappy this year has been.

While these past 12 months have been all doom and gloom, this bit brought me a lot of happiness. I will go on record and say this is the best thing that Fallon has done on his show to date. Just like when the chorus line sings One, my hat is off to him and Rannells. When it comes to the Broadway star, I saw his friend Patty Lupone shine through him. Am I the only one who saw it?

You know, if Corden can take time off from his show, then why can’t Fallon star in a musical on the Great White Way with Rannells. I would love to see the two of them work together. Maybe Lin-Manuel Miranda could write it for them? I would fly back to NYC, after I get my shot, to see that.

One last note, how is it possible that they didn’t do a song from Rent? I mean, there is the title song Rent, where they ask how are they going to pay rent. There is also Seasons of Love that tells the story of 525,600 minutes measuring a year. I think it seems like a given, I am telling you.

The good news is that Joe Manganiello no longer has the blue mohawk
December 2nd, 2020 under Jimmy Fallon, Joe Manganiello. [ Comments: none ]

Joe Manganiello got a blue mohawk to play Deathstroke. Now that he is wrapped, the mohawk is gone, as is all of his hair.

Mr. Sofia Vergara debuted his new look on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon yesterday. What do you think of him bald? I don’t think his shaved head would look so bad if he shaved also shaved off his bushy goatee.

BTW Can we talk about how sweet his friendship is with Bubbles? I have never seen a man love a dog as much as he loves his best friend.
