Betty White is Hot in Cleveland and Hollywood
March 16th, 2010 under Betty White, TV Land. [ Comments: none ]

Betty White is coming back to weekly television this June in TV Land’s first sitcom Hot in Cleveland. Three other sitcom legends, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves And Wendie Malick are starring in the show as LA woman who find themselves in Cleveland when the plane they were on that was going to Paris makes an unexpected landing there. The Golden Girl will be playing the snarky but lovable Elka Ostrovsky, property caretaker of the home that the three women move into. With these 4 comedic geniuses starring in Hot in Cleveland on the network of classic shows, I can’t wait to see how this show turns out in June! It has Miss Betty White in it, what else do you need to watch it? Seriously who doesn’t love her?

The best speeches from the SAG Awards
January 24th, 2010 under Awards, Betty White, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino, Sandra Bullock. [ Comments: none ]

If you are like me and find all these Awards shows extremely boring, here are the best speeches from last night’s SAG Awards!
If it weren’t for the fact they were honoring Betty White, I would not have DVRed the SAG Awards, but as they said who doesn’t love Betty White! And what an introduction Sandra Bullock gave to Betty as she received the much deserved Life Achievement Award and what an acceptance speech Ms Betty White gave when she got the naked little man statuette! I especially loved the clip reel because I never saw Betty’s early work before so it was such a joy to see she is really a brunette. Who knew she wasn’t a natural blonde? I also love that the Golden Girl is 88 years young and she still has all of her wit…her dirty little wit!!! Now when it comes to Sandra accepting her award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for a Motion Picture, how much did you adore her speech where she praises her husband! I so want a marriage like theirs because you can tell that they really love each other, afterall he is wearing a monkey suit for her. Next time she forces him to dress up is the Oscars!!!
Next up is Drew Barrymore, who is finally winning awards for her acting! I love her speeches and I admire that she tries to do them off the cuff. Next up for her is the Emmys, hopefully by then she will have this award accepting thing down!
Finally it is time for the Inglourious Basterds and we have Christoph Waltz who is just so humbled by all of his awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture and if anyone deserves the award for best actor this year it is him. Plus his speeches are so original and sincere, how can you not love him. Lastly we have Eli Roth accepting Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture for the cast and he is the only actor who actually named all of the cast that was up there on the stage with him when they won that honor and I respect him for that. Next up fro Christoph is the Oscars!
Here are all of the winners:

Betty White says she is such a whore!!!
January 21st, 2010 under Betty White, George Lopez. [ Comments: none ]

Betty White was George Lopez’s TBS show Lopez Tonight yesterday to talk about receiving the SAG Lifetime Achievement this upcoming Saturday night. When he said to her that she seems to be in every movie she told him, “I’m such a whore. I can’t say no.” Gotta love an 88 year old who can say the word whore!
George’s interview with Miss Betty White was a really good one, so make sure to watch it all the way through. Especially the end when she says what is the one thing she hasn’t done in her 61 years in the business that she wants to do! I am with her on that one!!!

Betty White is getting SAG’s Life Achievement Award
September 15th, 2009 under Betty White. [ Comments: none ]

Betty White has a career that so many of peers have envied and should aspire to and on January 23rd they will be honoring her with the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. A week after her 88th she will get this honor and her age is not slowing her down. She is still doing all her animal activism, appearing on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson every now and again, starring in You Again and was recently the best part of The Proposal. No matter what she does whether it is scripted or improv her comedic timing is perfect and always brings a smile to our faces, so when I saw she was getting this honor it brought a smile to my face because she so richly deserves it.
And I am not the only one, here is what the Screen Actors Guild National President Alan Rosenberg said about her getting the honor at the Screen Actors Guild Award, “Whether creating some of television’s most indelible characters, plunging into film roles with joyous gusto or perfecting the art of the quip as a television panelist and host, Betty White has entertained audiences with her impeccable comic timing and remarkable wit for more than sixty years. Her lifelong devotion to the welfare of animals, manifest in her work as an author, producer and philanthropist, is further evidence of her tremendous humanity and meaningful contributions in so many important areas. Screen Actors Guild is honored to celebrate Betty White’s extraordinary achievements over the course of an exemplary life.” So true!
You know that when she stands up there to accept the award there will be a standing ovation her because who doesn’t love this Golden Girl? She made us laugh and fall in love with her role as Sue Ann Nevins on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls, appearing on her late-husband Alan Lund’s (how she met him) show Password and a countless other memorable TV appearances. And in the recent years we have seen a different side of her humor during the Comedy Central Roast for William Shatner and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. On that note, I hope they ask him to give her honor because I think his admiration and respect for her would make it a really touching speech that I am sure she would have a perfect zinger for!
I can’t wait to see her accept the honor at the Screen Actors Guild Award on January 23rd because I really think she has earned this Life Achievement Award!!!
