9-1-1 and The Resident are in limbo for next season
May 16th, 2022 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Fox was set to announce their 2022-2023 schedule today, but they are still locking it in. That is because they have yet to finalize deals for 9-1-1 and The Resident. Because of that, they are moving the two summer shows, Fantasy Island and Lego Masters to the regular season.

Since the network doesn’t have a schedule, these are the shows that are coming back: Dramas: 9-1-1: Lone Star, Accused, Alert, The Cleaning Lady, Fantasy Island, Monarch; Comedies: Bob’s Burgers, Call Me Kat, Family Guy, The Great North, Grimsburg, Housebroken, Krapopolis, The Simpsons, Welcome To Flatch; Unscripted: Beat Shazam, Crime Scene Kitchen, Don’t Forget The Lyrics!, Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, Hell’s Kitchen, Lego Masters, The Masked Singer, Masterchef, Next Level Chef, So You Think You Can Dance.

Am I the only one who thinks that Fox picked up Call Me Kat to f*ck with Jeopardy? As long as Mayim Bialik has to film the unfunny sitcom, then she can’t become the full time host of the game show. When it comes to Welcome to Flatch, I want to see the photos they have because you know they are salacious.

The infamous Rudy Giuliani on The Masked Singer episode aired tonight
April 20th, 2022 under Alan and Robin Thicke, Fox, Ken Jeong, Nick Cannon. [ Comments: 2 ]

Two months ago, we heard that Rudy Giuliani was going to be on The Masked Singer and that Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke walked off of the stage after his reveal.

Tonight that episode finally aired, so did that happen? It didn’t, and it did. The two men did walk off the stage eventually but remained professionals until they didn’t have to be anymore.

I respect them for doing their jobs. Sadly, the same can not be said for Giuliani, who has never been a professional. Well, professional asshole, he was always good at that.

And sad on Fox for booking the disgraced man.

Oh, did you notice how Nick Cannon dissed him by not introducing him as the former mayor of New York City? That was a nice touch. Too bad the women were just too oblivious to it all.

NBC and ABC each cancelled a freshman show
March 4th, 2022 under Fox, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

NBC announced that they cancelled Ordinary Joe, and then a few minutes later, Fox did the same with The Big Leap. The news, reported by Variety first, is no surprise because neither show did well in the ratings.

The Big Leap was a great show, but it was wrongly paired with 9-1-1 because it reached a different type of audience. 9-1-1 is first responder drama, while The Big Leap was a fictional take of the behind the scenes of a reality dancing competition show and all the madness that goes on. Well, even more so because it was make-believe. It also had a lot of heart.

Ordinary Joe had an interesting concept. James Wolk starred as the lead character, who had three choices on his college graduation day. The show followed what happened if he made each decision. There was only one problem, the decisions were forced on us 10 years later. We needed a standalone episode for each timeline so we could have gotten to know each story better. It helped with This Is Us, and I think it would’ve done the same with Ordinary Joe.

Are you sad that these shows were given the ax? I am upset about The Big Leap.

Why did Fox greenlight The Real Dirty Dancing?
January 19th, 2022 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 1987, a movie came out called Dirty Dancing. It has been almost 34 years since we fell in love with Jennifer Grey and Patrick in their roles, and Fox thinks that now is a good time to recreate the film as a reality show.

Are people still talking about it to the point that we want to see celebs dance and act like Baby and Johnny Castle? It is an iconic feature, but I don’t think enough to still garner the interest that the Fox executives think it will get when it debuts on February 1st.

Now, if it were Star Wars or Ferris Bueller, maybe I can understand that. But not Dirty Dancing.

So what is the premise of The Real Dirty Dancing? Fox describes it as the reality competition will follow eight celebrities — Brie Bella, Corbin Bleu, Tyler Cameron, Cat Cora, Howie Dorough, Antonio Gates, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, and Loni Love — as they fully immerse themselves in the ultimate Dirty Dancing experience. Set at Virginia’s Mountain Lake Lodge, which was the real location for the film’s fictional Kellerman’s Lodge, the stars will partner up and learn iconic dance routines from the Jennifer Grey-and Patrick Swayze-led movie and recreate classic scenes — including the legendary lift that cemented the film’s spot in cinematic history. Throughout the event special, Dirty Dancing’s memorable music and unforgettable fashion will transport viewers right back to that magical summer in 1963.

Twitch will host the show, and there will be several guest judges. If Grey is not one of them, then that says it all to be.

I get that Fox needs to fill the space that was vacated by Monarch because they moved the Country Music Soap Opera to the Fall. However, I just don’t see this doing well. I mean, ABC Family did a remake of the movie in 2017, and it did not do well. If Sarah Hyland and Debra Messing couldn’t bring in an audience, how will these celebrities do it? That and did you even know that in 2014 there was a tour of a musical version of the movie that lasted for almost three years? I didn’t. I even forgot that in 2020 it was announced that they are doing a sequel with Grey reprising her role.

Are you going to tune in?
