May 17th, 2023 under Coronavirus, Lea Michele. [ Comments: none ]

Lea Michele is taking a break from doing Funny Girl, and it is not because she wants to.

“Unfortunately, Lea Michele has tested positive for Covid.” the Broadway musical wrote. “She will be out of the show this week and will return on Tuesday, May 23rd.”

Hopefully, she has a mild case and will be back wowing the gorgeous audiences as she has been!

If you want to be one of the gorgeous audience members, don’t wait too long. The curtain goes down forever on September 3rd.

And ladies and gentlemen, just a quick reminder, COVID is still a thing.

March 12th, 2023 under Coronavirus, Glenn Close, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

Eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close was supposed to be a presenter at tonight’s Academy Awards, but she had to cancel on them at the last minute because she tested positive for COVID-19.

Her rep to the Associated Press that “she is isolating and resting.
Hopefully, she will be better soon.

As of now, the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences has not announced who will be replacing her. I think they should have someone dressed in a COVID red ball present for her.

Savannah Guthrie leaves Today early
February 28th, 2023 under Coronavirus, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

The Today Show started off with Savannah Guthrie hosting the show this morning, but by the second hour, she was gone.

So what happened? Sheinelle Jones told their audience, “She wasn’t feeling great, so she took a COVID test. It came back positive. So, as soon as we found out, she rushed home to rest up. So Savannah, we love you, wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Al Roker, who had coronavirus late last year backed away from Jones as she was talking about their ailing co-anchor because she sat next to her when the show started. I can’t say I blame him.

When it comes to Guthrie, who is vaccinated and boosted, this is the second time she has tested positive. The first time was in January 2022.

One last thought. Now that we know why Guthrie is missing from the show, when are they going to tell us where Hoda Kotb has been for the last seven broadcasts?

COVID is causing celebrities to drop out of The Critic Choice Awards
January 15th, 2023 under Colin Farrell, Coronavirus. [ Comments: 4 ]

On Tuesday, several celebrities attended the Golden Globes Awards, and today they are cancelling on The Critic Choice Awards because they tested positive for COVID-19.

So far, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Gleeson, Colin Farrell, and Michelle Pfeiffer are negative to attend but positive for the coronavirus.

And there might be even more because Deadline says that all attendees need to take a COVID test before they show up tonight. If you get a single line on your test, then you can be in line to enter the theater.

Although, the test has to have been taken 72 hours before the show. They should make it so that you need to take the test before you get into the limo. That is the most accurate way to know if someone has it. And even that isn’t perfect.

This is going to be a fun awards season!

Jamie Lee Curtis went to the Golden Globes and all she got was COVID-19
January 13th, 2023 under Coronavirus, Jamie Lee Curtis. [ Comments: none ]

Jamie Lee Curtis attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday and watched her Everything Everywhere All at Once co-stars, Ke Huy Quan and Michelle Yeoh, win awards, as did their film, but she went home empty-handed. Or so she thought.

“Fuck COVID,” the actress wrote. “Sadly, this head cheerleader is not going to be at all the weekend festivities cheering on her friends and colleagues. Life on life’s terms. I’m glad that there are all these home tests available so that I didn’t go to the @americanfilminstitute lunch and spread my germs. I was SO looking forward to going to the @bafta tea and the @criticschoice awards as a nominee and member of a motley crew! I’m so proud of these people, and I look forward to cheering them on through my TV set. Stay safe out there people.”

Hopefully, she will be better soon.

And I know she didn’t get COVID at the Globes. It takes longer than two days for symptoms to show and to test positive.
