Glenn Close is out of the Oscars due to COVID
March 12th, 2023 under Coronavirus, Glenn Close, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

Eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close was supposed to be a presenter at tonight’s Academy Awards, but she had to cancel on them at the last minute because she tested positive for COVID-19.

Her rep to the Associated Press that “she is isolating and resting.
Hopefully, she will be better soon.

As of now, the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences has not announced who will be replacing her. I think they should have someone dressed in a COVID red ball present for her.

Glenn Close reveals how this years’ Oscar moment came about
April 27th, 2021 under Glenn Close, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

This year’s Oscars was a complete bore except for one moment. That moment was when Lil Rel asked Glenn Close about the song Da Butt. Not only did the Oscar nominee school him on it, but she also did it for him.

So was that unforgettable moment preplanned, or was it completely spontaneous? Close explained how it all went down on Sunday night.

We had the MOST FUN at our table at the Oscars last night. Chris Terrio, one of my best friends, who won an Oscar for the screenplay of ARGO, was my gallant escort. Daniel Kaluuya and Darrell Britt-Gibson were wonderful table mates. I knew that Lil Rel was going to quiz me about Da Butt and all three guys helped me run through what I was to say. Darrell insisted that I mention the Backyard Band, on top of E.U., Suga Bear and the whole DMV. I had googled “Da Butt” and watched Spike’s music video so when Lil Rel asked if I could do the dance…you can actually see me think of the video. That part was completely spontaneous. Daniel, Darrell and Chris egged me on!!! It was ALL their fault. CONGRATULATIONS DANIEL on your BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR Oscar. You are completely brilliant. I now consider both Daniel and Darrell to be friends-for-life!

So it was planned, but it wasn’t. Either way, it worked out brilliantly for everyone but Patti LuPone. Close’s mortal enemy is probably not happy that the actress was the Belle of the Ball and not Da Butt of all jokes

BTWF: Glenn Close in Barnum
April 26th, 2021 under Before They Were Famous, Glenn Close. [ Comments: none ]

Before Glenn Close was the mistress in Fatal Attraction, her husband was the one having the affair in Barnum. Doesn’t the 33-year-old actress wow you in that song and dance number from the 1980 Broadway Musical?

Glenn Close’s scariest role since Fatal Attraction
November 1st, 2020 under Donald Trump, Glenn Close. [ Comments: none ]

If you thought Glenn Close was terrifying in Fatal Attraction when she boiled Michael Douglas’ bunny rabbit, then you will be horrified when you see what she is doing now. She dressed up as Donald Trump, and I won’t be sleeping for days. Partially, because of her costume. Mostly because of the election. Light a candle for America. We need it.

I wonder how different Trump’s life would have been had he had an affair with someone like Close’s character Alex Forrest, instead of porn stars.

Andrew Rannells spills the tea on his diner with Patti LuPone and Glenn Close
June 25th, 2020 under Andrew Rannells, Andy Cohen, Glenn Close, Jon Hamm, Patti LuPone. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, when Patti LuPone was on Watch What Happens Live, she talked about the fateful night she had with Andrew Rannells, Jon Hamm, and her sworn enemy Glenn Close.

The two legendary actresses do not get along because LuPone was slated to play the lead in Sunset Boulevard, but they gave the role to Glenn Close instead. Needless to say, since then Lupone has not been a fan of Close’s.

So what happened when the two ladies got close to each other on a night out in Manhattan. According to LuPone, she warned her friend Jon Hamm that he better not f*ck her.

That was towards the end of that night, a night we all wish we could have been a fly on the wall. While we were not, Rannells was. Yesterday, when he was on WWHL, he gave some more details to Andy Cohen about what happened inbetween their chance meeting until the threat.

He says the three of them were out at a restaurant, and they went to talk to some friends. When they got back to the booth, Close was sitting there all by herself. The three joined her and chatted for a while. Since both divas are ladies, they acted civilly towards each other. However, you could feel the tension between them.

He probably felt it because LuPone kept saying to him that Close better not try to f*ck Hamm or that she would lose it. No one lost anything that night, but Rannels had a night he will never forget.

I can’t wait to hear what Hamm has to say about it. He better ham it up for the cameras!

I also hope that some big Broadway producer casts LuPone and Close in a revival of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Ryan Murphy would have the next Feud unfold before our very eyes.
