Why Women Kill looks like it is going to be a killer show!
July 24th, 2019 under CBS, Desperate Housewives. [ Comments: none ]

Over the last century, women have slowly learned how to use their voices to speak up. How they handled infidelity in the ’60s is different than how they treated it the ’80s and is much different than we do it today.

Starting August 15th on CBS All Access, Why Women Kill shows how three women (Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin and Kirby Howell-Baptiste), from each of those time periods, handle their husbands cheating on them. In a way that only Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry can.

Mark your calendars because you are not going to want to miss this tantalizing show.

CBS All Access takes all the color out of The Twilight Zone
June 4th, 2019 under CBS, Jordan Peele. [ Comments: none ]

Almost 60 years ago when The Twilight Zone debuted with Rod Serling, it aired only in black and white. It was not until 1985, the first revival, that the new episodes were done in color. Since then every revival has been done in color including the latest one on CBS All Access.

That was until this week when they decided to release black and white versions of all of this season’s episodes. Would the color-stripped episodes change up the feel of the show? So far I only have watched the last episode in both forms and the answer is hell yes. It gives it the feel that makes the story even creepier. Which helps you travel through to another dimension. “A dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That’s the signpost up ahead – your next stop, the Twilight Zone!”

Granted, the last episode had a special guest star that made the effect even more fitting. However, I think the rest of the episodes will all benefit by going back to basics.

If you are like me and are going to rewatch them all in the different format, then keep your eye out for the Blurryman in all of them. Someone said they found him in the other nine. Did you spot him before he was revealed in the season finale?

I really hope that CBS All Access and Jordan Peele decide to do this again for the second season. Whoever suggested that they edit the show both ways deserves a big old raise. It was a very smart choice. One that really pays off for fans of the original.

Here is CBS’s 2019-2020 season!

CBS announced their 2019-2020 season and they made some changes. The biggest is moving Magnum P.I. to Fridays at 9p. Which means Hawaii Five-0 will now anchors the night and MacGyver moves to midseason along with the final season of Crimimal Minds and Man with a Plan. The latter is their new Yes, Dear and Mike & Molly, as in a safety show that never gets cancelled until they have a new one.

Sundays and Tuesdays are the same. Monday starts and ends the same, but they added new shows in between. Personally, I think they should have moved Bull to midseason because of the Michael Weatherly controversy. SWAT moves Wednesday to be teamed with SEAL Team and that is a smart move. Thursday is getting a makeover due to The Big Bang Theory ending. I am surprised they are not airing Patricia Heaton’s new show after Young Sheldon. People like Heaton and want to watch her.

The big news is that Madame Secretary is ending next season with just 10 episodes.

CBS renews 6 dramas, shockingly Bull is one of them
May 9th, 2019 under CBS, Michael Weatherly. [ Comments: none ]

CBS announced that they picked up SEAL Team, S.W.A.T., Madam Secretary, Bull, Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, 60 Minutes and 48 Hours for another season. The news programs make sense. The dramas are a little surprising because they are all ratings duds except for Hawaii Five-0. However, we all thought after the Eliza Dushku story came out about her saying that Michael Weatherly sexually harassed her that they would have cancelled the show. Especially since they paid her a huge settlement ($9.5 million) because of it.

The story broke when the show was on hiatus, and many of us thought it would not return in the #MeToo era. But it did. In fact, it stayed around the same in the ratings which were not nearly as good as when it followed NCIS for its first two seasons. Therefore, CBS, the network who fired its boss over sexual harassment claims, had a way out. Yet they did not take it.

Which dumbfounded a lot of us. No one as much as Steven Speilberg and his company Amblin Entertainment who produce the legal drama. Or should I say produced as in the past tense? That is because a rep for the production company told Deadline, “Steven Spielberg, Amblin Television, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey are no longer attached to Bull.”

That should mean that CBS is the sole producer of the show. Something networks like more and more these days. But will they want to produce it by themselves? Yes, Michael Weatherly was one of their biggest stars on NCIS, but is he worth keeping around when so many women lost respect and interest in him after we all found out about Eliza Dushku? I honestly thought they would take the loss, boy was I wrong.

I guess the #MeToo movement has come and gone, and now it is OK to harass us again. It is not and the only way to keep the momentum going is to fire and not work with people that have to been proven to be harassers. It is not only about us. It is about the next generation and the generation after that and so on. For too long we stayed quiet. Not anymore. I am woman, hear me roar!

BTW I guess you can say I am calling bull on Bull being picked up for another season.
