Many years ago before there was Facebook and Twitter, and American Idol was just a baby, there was a guy named Justin Guarini who came in second during the first season. After a failed movie with the winner of that year, he has pretty much been AWOL. That is until now because Old Navy has found him Just In time when Idol is making headlines again.
You know I have to wonder how many Justins Old Navy called before they had to settle with him. I mean there is Justin Timberlake, Bieber, Long, Chambers, Kirk, Theroux and Hartley, and you know they had to be ahead of him on the list. Although I am happy the others said no or weren’t asked to be in their Just In Time campaign because it is great to see him again. The 33 year is really looking good these days without his Sideshow Bob hair! Which yes I know, he hasn’t had in a while.
Kellie Pickler shaved her head a few weeks, so her friend who is going through chemo would not be alone. Well her hair is starting to grow back and now she is back to styling it again! As you can see in the picture she posted above and said, “Fixing’ my hair for the show…hope it’s not windy! Lol!” Hopefully the wind didn’t mess it up too bad because she is putting a lot of hard work in to it!
Last week Kellie Pickler shaved her head along with her best friend Summer, who started chemo two days afterwards for breast cancer. The former-American Idol contestant shared her story with the world, but she had not done a sit down interview with anyone up until now. Pickler told her story to Ellen DeGeneres and you can hear it all this Monday.
What Kellie did was so beautiful that I cried listening to her tell Ellen what she did and why she did it in this preview clip. I don’t know that many people that would do what she did and I respect the crap out of her for doing it.
I pray that her friend gets through the chemo, cancer-free and with as little side effects as possible.
via GMA Kellie Pickler was portrayed as a dumb blonde on American Idol, but she did something very smart for a friend of hers. Kellie’s best friend Summer Holt Miller was diagnosed with breast cancer in June and she will start chemo tomorrow to beat it. As we all know the chances of someone losing their hair while undergoing the treatment is very likely, so Summer shaved her head yesterday and not wait for the chemo to make her bald. Kellie supported her “sister” by also shaving her head, so that she would not be alone with the bald head. I think the singer looks as beautiful as what she did for her for her friend.
Good for Kellie for being real American Idol and bringing awareness about how detecting breast cancer early can save your life. Like Summer who was diagnosed with it at the age of 36 and she insisted on getting a mammogram even though doctors thought she was too young. If she didn’t know who knows where she would be. So ladies remember check and get those mammograms every year. And let’s all hope and pray that Summer gets through this quickly and cancer free.
Kelly Clarkson Tweeted the above picture and said, “Sprained my foot and have a hairline fracture but the show must go on people ha! Thank you @ashes2lashes & @Jillandkate for the help!” She didn’t explain how she hurt her foot, but hopefully she will tell us all about it on Duets this Thursday. And let’s hope that it is something funny and fitting for an American Idol.
