Just about a month ago, Katy Perry gave birth to her daughter, Daisy Dove. Now, she is back at work on American Idol with Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, Ryan Seacrest.
I actually feel bad for the boys and the crew of the ABC singing competition because you know all she is going to do is talk about her daughter. Imagine all of the poor editors and producers who will have to edit down all of her talk about her baby.
On a positive note, she looks good for someone who just popped out a baby. On a negative note, when was the last time Seacrest showered? He looks greasy. Normally, he is so put together.
Dancing with the Stars changed things up this season by eliminating Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews from the show for Tyra Banks. After that announcement, I wondered if ABC would do the same with American Idol. Today we found out the singing competition is keeping all of their talent around.
“Katy [Perry], Lionel [Richie] and Luke [Bryan] are fun, astute and really know how to spot talent,” said executive producer and showrunner Trish Kinane. “Their chemistry is undeniable, and we are delighted that they, along with host Ryan Seacrest, are returning to find the next superstar and take ‘American Idol’ to new heights next season.”
TBH the only judge who knew how to find talent, was Paula Abdul. After she left the Idol, they never had a huge artist again. Maybe they should change things up and find musicians who really have an eye for talent. What do you think?
BTW Since Perry is coming back, we have a new drinking game for this season. Every time she talks about her baby, take a sip from your baby bottle filled with alcohol. If she wears something ridiculous, then you have to finish the whole bottle by the end of that episode. Doesn’t that sound fun?
Dancing with the Stars made some changes this season and eliminated Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews from the show. That made me wonder if ABC was thinking about doing the same for its fourth season of American Idol.
I am not the only one because People asked Luke Bryan if he is going to be returning as a judge on the singing compeitition in 2021. He says his people and their people are talking now, and it looks good that he, along with Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Ryan Seacrest, will all be returning the show.
Personally, I wish they would switch out Bergeron for Seacrest because I want the former one back on television. The latter one is on TV way too much.
Do you think that Idol needs to make some changes?

American Idol is changing up how they do auditions for the upcoming season due to the coronavirus pandemic. For the first time ever, all 50 states and Washington, D.C., will each get a chance to send someone from their state to the contest.
This became an option because this time around they are doing auditions remotely and virtually. So between August 10th and September 7th, producers will be listening to contestants from every state in the United States.
All you have to do is go to their audition page, find your city, and apply. Then during the timeslot you selected for your city’s date, sing for their producers. That is all. Knock them dead, Alaska. Break their legs, Vermont. Serenade them, Kansas.
When it comes to the auditions we see on television, we still don’t know how they will do those. Hopefully, by then, they can do them in person. If not, we know they will figure out a way.
