Billy Idol inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
April 13th, 2026 under American Idol 9+, Billy Idol. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight was Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night on American Idol, and this year’s nominee, Billy Idol, was forced to sing Rebel Yell with Carrie Underwood.

As a reward for that painful performance, Ryan Seacrest told him that, unlike last year, he and Steve Stephens are getting inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame.

The Rocker will be joined by this class’ other inductees: Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan.

“Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music’s highest honor. We look forward to celebrating these remarkable artists at this year’s ceremony – it’s going to be an unforgettable night,” said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Poor Mariah Carey was once again rejected by the Cleveland museum. And I think she deserves to be in it more than Sade and Wu-Tang Clan. Maybe next year, I mean, how many times did it take Cher and Dionne Warwick to get in?

This year’s ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 14th, and air sometime after that on ABC and Disney+.

Peacock renews The ‘Burbs’ lease for another year
April 13th, 2026 under Strahan, Sara & Keke. [ Comments: none ]

Elizabeth Morris/Peacock

Peacock was looking for places to live, and they decided to stay in The ‘Burbs for a second season.

“We’re so thrilled that audiences loved season one of ‘The ‘Burbs,’ and are going to get to spend more time in Hinkley Hills with Keke [Palmer] and the rest of this incredible cast,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBC & Peacock. “A huge congratulations to all of the writers, producers and crew who updated the beloved original film and made something funny, warm and highly contemporary.”

It will be interesting to see if they can do a better job with the next season than they did with the first. It was more filler than story.

Cheech and Chong and Jay and Silent Bob
April 13th, 2026 under Cheech & Chong, Kevin Smith, Strange Encounters. [ Comments: none ]

One of the best things about autograph conventions is getting to see celebrities together who you would never expect to see hanging out.

Over the weekend at Astronomicon in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, and Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes got to hang out and get high. And we got a picture of the four stoners becoming friends.

And what I got to realize is that Jay and Silent Bob are the ’90s version of Cheech and Chong. How did I never put two and two together before? Did you see it before I did?
