BTWF: Conan O’Brien home videos
April 29th, 2025 under Before They Were Famous, Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

Before Conan O’Brien was interviewing celebrities for a living, he was interviewing his siblings, Kate and Luke, with whom he was living. How cute was the 11-year-old testing out his comedic timing in 1974? I love that he is still doing that little laugh.

How does Billy Idol feel about not getting into the Rock’n’Roll of Hall of Fame
April 29th, 2025 under Billy Idol, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

On Sunday, the dumb ass Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame announced their 2025 inductees, and nominee Billy Idol was not on the list.

Yesterday, when he was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host asked him about it. “A lot of people, you don’t get in on your first time,” he said. “So, it is not the end of the world. I have a great album out. I’ve got a documentary coming out this year.” Outkast, The White Stripes, and Soundgarden can’t say that.

I have to admit that Idol is taking the pass over better than I am. That is why he has been rocking for almost 50 years and influencing the next generation of Rockers!

He cringed as he slowly put on his one pair of frozen leather pants that the label gave him for the Rebel Yell tour, so they could have multiple pairs.

Oh look, it’s Victorious’ Cat Valentine and Jade West!
April 29th, 2025 under Ariana Grande, Elizabeth Gillies. [ Comments: none ]

On Victorious, Cat Valentine and Jade West did not always get along. However, 15 years after Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies started playing frenemies, they are still the best of friends.

So much so that they had a wicked reunion when the Oscar nominee came out to see Gillies as Audrey in the Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors.

This isn’t the first time the two of them have been in a Broadway theater together. They both starred in the stage version of Thirteen before they worked on the Dan Schneider teen sitcom.

Grande is not the only Victorious co-star to support Gillies. Avan Jogia, Daniella Monet, and Matt Bennett also stopped by to sing along with her.

Talking about singing, Grande sang (my favorite version of) Suddenly Seymour with Seth MacFarlane on Carpool Karaoke in 2017.

Match Game is coming up Short
April 29th, 2025 under Martin Short. [ Comments: none ]

(Disney/Randy Holmes)

Match Game has been on and off the air since 1982, and ABC is bringing it back again. This time, the game show will be hosted by Martin Short, and it will not be short on jokes.

Actually, the game show that asks six celebrities to fill in the blanks might have too many jokes! I am sure the outtakes are going to be so much better than what we will see because what doesn’t make air will probably need to be censored. That is why it sucks that it is on broadcast television because the censors are so prudish.

Short is taking over for Alec Baldwin, who did the job from 2016 to 2021. He almost came up short on the job because Deadline is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker was up for the gig, but the deal was never signed. That is a great thing because she is as funny as Donald Trump trying to do standup.

Carrie should be afraid of Fear Street: Prom Street
April 29th, 2025 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since 1976, proms have never been the same because of Stephen King’s Carrie. Generations were afraid that they would get locked in their school gyms during their proms as a tormented teen covered in pigs’ blood murdered as many of her classmates and teachers as she could before burning it all down.

That was almost 50 years ago. Now, there is a new prom queen in town, and she is giving fear to a new generation of prom goers.

Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider puts herself in the running, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.

Fear Street: Prom Queen dances its way onto Netflix on May 23rd, just in time for prom season…

This is the fourth film in the Fear Street franchise based on R.L. Stine’s books; the first three are streaming on Netflix.
