Rebel Wilson has a new movie out today, and Senior Year is streaming on Netflix. The film gets an A+ from me!
Wilson is playing Stephanie, a senior in high school. Wait, how can she play someone in high school? It is because back when she was a senior, one of her cheerleading stunts went wrong, and she spent the next 20 years in a coma.
So, when she finally wakes up, she still feels like a teenager. Therefore, she wants to finish her final year in high school so that she can be Prom Queen.
A lot has changed since 2002. Things are a lot more PC, and her best friend, Martha (Mary Holland), is the principal of the school, and she is as PC as they get. So much so that she got rid of cheerleading as it was and Prom Kings and Queens.
Stephanie is going to do everything in her power to get both of those back to how they were 20 years ago. But, it is a different world, and she has to learn to play the game.
One of the things she has to do is get Brie (Jade Bender) on her side. The only problem is Brie is the daughter of her archnemesis Tiffany (Zoe Chao) and her former boyfriend Blane (Justin Hartley). Tiffany still hates Stephanie, and the feeling is mutual.
Luckily, Stephanie still has her other best friend, Seth (Sam Richardson), to help her have the perfect Senior Year. Can they do it? You just have to watch this sweet movie that is a throwback to all the great coming of age movies from the ’90s.
Angourie Rice, who plays teenage Stephanie, is perfect in the role. She even does the thing that Wilson does with her hair. What thing? When you see it, you will know.
Actually, everyone is great in this film. This is the perfect movie to Netflix & Chill with because it makes you want to go back to high school, and it doesn’t make you want to do it at the same. Plus, it is so super fun, and who doesn’t want to relax with something fun?
Yesterday was a bad day to have a bubble show on NBC, CBS, and The CW. That is because all three networks went on a cancelling spree.
However, ABC went on a renewal frenzy because they picked up A Million Little Things, Big Sky, The Conners, Home Economics, The Wonder Years, Shark Tank, American Idol, The Bachelor, American’s Funniest Videos, and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune for another season.
At least they have more faith in their shows than I do. Because I think almost of the series should have been cancelled.
The actor spent nearly 50 years entertaining us and had a resume consisting of comedies, dramas, horror, romantic comedies, and so much more.
He is known for his work in The Right Stuff, Swing Shift, Henry & June, Naked Gun 33+1⁄3: The Final Insult, Tremors, Tremors 2, Joe Dirt, and Sweet Home Alabama, to name a few.
However, my favorite movie of his is Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins. He plays a tough NYC cop who is trained by a Korean martial artist to be a killing machine. Normally, I am not into movies like this, but he was so lovable in it that you couldn’t but to love the film.
So today, let’s honor him by watching Remo Williams or one of his many other roles. Let’s show him we will always love him.
