Richard Burgi has been playing Ashland Locke on The Young and the Restless for almost a year, but he was recently fired from the role. The actor took to Instagram to explain why.
Over Christmas break, Burgi tested positive for COVID-19. When he returned, he followed the CDC guidelines and returned to work, with two negative tests, five days after he tested positive. However, the show’s policy says that he needed to wait for ten days. Since the actor didn’t, they decided to let him go and replace him with Robert Newman, according to Soap Opera Digest.
He feels terrible about what he did. Personally, I think they should have suspended him, as compared to firing him because he didn’t know that they were not following the Center for Disease Control’s new guidelines. If anyone is at fault here, it is the CDC.
When it comes to if Burgi has any animosity towards the Soap Opera, he does not. He said,” “It bothers me mightily, but it is what it is. I respect whatever the show’s decision is. They’re doing the best they can, as we all are. I truly wish the gentleman who’s coming in to play Ashland a wonderful time. He’s going to be working with the most incredible actress and a great, great cast. It’s an amazing show, I have nothing but good memories and good wishes for it.”
He is handling the situation with class. I can’t wait to see what he does next because this should not fault him in Hollywood. It was an innocent mistake, and he made sure he was negative before returning to work.
I am assuming that Kris Jenner is hard at work trying to get Kim Kardashian’s new boyfriend a job. That is because Page Six is reporting that Pete Davidson is in talks to talks to host the Oscars. Doesn’t that feel like a PMK thing?
The source told the site that he attracts a younger demographic, and that is why they are considering him. However, I can’t see ABC/Disney going for someone who is as raunchy as him to host their biggest show of the year. Plus, he comes from an NBC show. But then again, they let Seth MacFarlane host; and he is raunchy and has a few Fox shows.
Seriously, I don’t see it. But I have never seen what anyone sees in Davidson. I don’t find him funny. And if he hosts, then I won’t watch. But truth be told, I wasn’t planning on watching. I was hoping I could get the fourth COVID-19 vaccine shot on that day. Just like I got the first one on Oscar Sunday. So I slept through them, and I heard I didn’t miss anything.
Back to this year’s Academy Awards, I was just thinking that Seth Rogen would be a good choice to host the shindig. I can see him calling everyone out who doesn’t follow COVID-19 protocols, he attracts a young audience, and he can be funny. But that could be because we get a contact high watching him.

Stewart said that Pablo Larraín called her asked if she wanted to play Diana Spencer. The actress says she didn’t know who that was. Then the director told her it was Prince Diana. I guess it would be weird to hear the late Royal being called by born name because we never her called her that.
As we know, Stewart accepted his offer, but she had to do a lot mentally to prepare to play the beloved legend. She told the interviewer, “I think physically seeing how much I could put myself through. How cold I could get. How skinny I could get. How tired I could get. I still felt 10′ tall.” She attributes the last one to the strength that Lady Di had throughout her marriage to Prince Charles.
Can you think of a time we ever saw Princess Diana appear weak? She stood tall and in charge, even with everything she was put through in front of the public and behind closed doors.
Jeannie Mai and her husband, Jeezy, welcomed their first child together. That is all we know because all she wrote about it is “Baby Jenkins is here.” So, we don’t know what it is, when it was born, nor what its name is. However, I am sure we will know all soon.

I don’t know what is going on here. But we should see more of it on the CBS daytime talk show. It is nice that these two are not doing the same old that everyone else is doing. They are the shot in the arm that the genre needed. Don’t you agree?
