David Alan Grier gets emotional talking about Jerry O’Connell

Right before the pandemic started, David Alan Grier and Jerry O’Connell starred in the Broadway play A Soldier’s Play. In fact, its final weekend was the same one that they shut the Great White Way down for a year and a half.

Anyways, today DAG was on The Talk, and he had a story to share about O’Connell. Grier immediately started to tear up as he shared what happened between them. He said that after the first table read, the CBS host told him that he was going to win a Tony for that role. O’Connell said to him that every day they did the show, and the actor thought, “it was embarrassing, and I felt ashamed.”

However, O’Connell was onto something because Grier did win the Tony for that role. The Tony winner’s raw emotions on the show today were because O’Connell knew before everyone else that he gave a Tony-winning performance. Grier’s first win after three other nominations in nearly 40 years.

O’Connell was so happy for Grier on Tony night that he accidentally put his co-star’s phone number out on social media. Was Grier upset? He told the viewers, “people started texting me and calling me, and it was all love, though. Not one crank call. Every person called, they said, ‘Jerry gave us your number, and we just want to tell you how much we love you. How much we support you.’ So it turned out to the craziest thing, and I thank you, Jerry.”

And with that, everyone had all the feels as the two men wiped tears from their eyes. This is how all actors should work together. They should work as a supportive team and be thankful for the support they get from their coworker, who is now their friend.

I have never worked with Jerry O’Connell, but I can tell you he is one of the nicest people in Hollywood. I am not saying this from my own experience (which has always been delightful), but I say it from people who have encountered or worked with him. We need more of him in this town. So whenever he says he marry above his status, he is wrong. I am sure Rebecca Romijn knew she was marrying a man with a huge heart. What woman doesn’t want that? Plus, he is funny, good-looking and has a great body! But his no BS warmth is his most outstanding feature.

One last note, Grier better cast O’Connell in the limited series he wants to do as a prequel to A Soldier’s Play. This way, O’Connell can tell him he is going to win the Emmy every day that they work together.

What is, I can’t believe I missed this Final Jeopardy clue?
November 10th, 2021 under Freddie Mercury, Jeopardy. [ Comments: none ]

I miss a lot of Jeopardy clues, but there are a few that I should always be able to get. For example, yesterday’s Final Jeopardy. Ken Jennings asked the contestants, “In 1976 ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was replaced at No. 1 on the U.K. Charts by this Europop song whose title is heard in Queen’s lyrics.”

Catherine O’Hara loses another Kevin
November 10th, 2021 under Kevin Hart. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 1990, Catherine O’Hara left her young son, Kevin McAlister, Home Alone. Now, 31 years later, she lost another Kevin. However, this time she lost him in a department store.

In her defense, you can’t blame her because Kevin Hart is the same height as Macaulay Culkin was in the movie. I am their height, so I can say that.

He might be short, but he has a big spending limit on his Chase Freedom Card.

One of the many things I love about the holiday season is when they come up with commercials that are throwbacks to yesteryear like this one. Thank you, Chase, for making my day!

We know that Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas. And this year, she is helping McDonald’s add some royalty to their restaurants so that they can compete with the Burger King this holiday season.

The singer is celebrating the 12 days of Christmas with McDonald’s, and we are getting a gift every day from December 13th to December 24th. Each day, you can go to their app, purchase something for a buck, and you will get a free item off of Mariah’s Menu.

“Some of my favorite memories with my kids are our family trips to McDonald’s, and of course, each of us has our go-to order. Mine is the Cheeseburger, and I get it with extra pickles,” said Mariah Carey. “Bringing together some of our favorite food from McDonald’s with my all-time favorite season is a holiday wish come true.”

So what are the 12 free items? To see what they are, then click here!

CBS announces its midseason schedule and CSI: Vegas is missing from it
November 10th, 2021 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS announced their midseason schedule today, and there are only changes to Wednesdays and Fridays. On those nights, they are adding the reality shows The Amazing Race, Undercover Boss, and Celebrity Big Brother to fill the time slots. Who asked for the latter to return?

In fact, things are so much the same that the only show missing from the lineup is CSI: Vegas. CBS said in the press release that they only planned for the first season to be ten episodes. However, I don’t believe that. I could be wrong.

So what is replacing the reboot? Sophia Bush returns to CBS in Good Sam. The show is about Dr. Sam Griffith (Bush), a gifted heart surgeon who excels in her new leadership role as chief of surgery after her renowned boss, Dr. Rob “Griff” Griffith (Isaacs), falls into a coma. When Dr. Griffith wakes up months later, demanding to resume his duties, Sam is tasked with supervising this egotistical expert with a scalpel who never acknowledged her stellar talent. Complicating matters, this caustic and arrogant boss also happens to be her father. As Griff defies Sam’s authority and challenges her medical expertise, the big question becomes whether this father and daughter will ever be able to mend their own relationship as expertly as they heal the hearts of their patients.
