Even Death isn’t afraid to take the COVID-19 vaccine
February 11th, 2021 under Coronavirus. [ Comments: none ]

There are a lot of people who say they won’t take the COVID-19 vaccine. Some say they don’t know if it is safe, others say it is the mark of the beast, and even more say it is the government’s way of tracking you. They are all ridiculous.

I say this because Death got the vaccine, and he lived to share a photo of himself getting it. OK. Maybe it is not the real Grim Reaper, but William Sadler is close. After all, he played Death in two of the Bill & Ted’s movies.

So I say to you anti-vaxxers when you get to the pearly gates, and they ask you what is the meaning of life. Don’t say recite the lyrics of Poison’s Every Rose Has a Thorn. That is now reserved only for those of us who take the vaccine.

The Oscars will go on with an in-person audience
February 10th, 2021 under Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

We are still two months away from the Oscars, and today we learned more about what we can expect from Hollywood’s biggest night this unusual year.

“In this unique year that has asked so much of so many, the Academy is determined to present an Oscars like none other, while prioritizing the public health and safety of all those who will participate,” a spokesperson for the Academy said in a statement. “To create the in-person show our global audience wants to see, while adapting to the requirements of the pandemic, the ceremony will broadcast live from multiple locations, including the landmark Dolby Theatre. We look forward to sharing more details soon.”

Personally, I still think it is ridiculous for them to hold the Oscars. Not just because of the pandemic, but also because it was not a normal year for movies. No movie has been released nationwide side mid-March. Of the movies that will most likely get the noms, most people will not have seen them. I mean, worse than year’s past. Thus, I think it is a stupid idea.

However, doing it at different locations, so that the nominees from all over the world can attend without traveling, is a smart idea.

What would also be a smart idea is having a master of ceremonies to tie it all together. Without one, it is going to feel disjointed. I think someone that everyone loves would be a great host, someone like Tom Hanks or The Rock.

The Academy Awards will take place on April 25th.

On February 25th, Punky Brewster is all grown up and back with new episodes on Peacock TV. We know that her character is divorced from Freddie Prinze, Jr., but what about her BFF?

Today, we found out about her best friend’s love life. Cherie Johnson, who plays Cherie, will be dating someone special. “I am absolutely thrilled (SO excited) you accepted the invitation to be my girlfriend on the new Punky Brewster @jasikaistrycurious you are brilliant, beautiful and so kind,” Johnson wrote. “We are so lucky to have you join this melting pot Punky fam as ‘Cherie’s’ girlfriend, Lauren!” Jasika Nicole is best known for playing Astrid Farnsworth on Fringe.

This announcement makes me want to watch the sequel even more. I am happy they did make the show super sweet and innocent as its competitor would do.
