Even Ray Donovan can’t fix this
February 4th, 2020 under Liev Schreiber, Showtime. [ Comments: none ]

Last month, Ray Donovan aired its season finale. Since them, Liev Schreiber implored people to let Showtime know they want an eighth one. Did his begging work? Sadly, it did not. The network announced today, “After seven incredible seasons, Ray Donovan has concluded its run on Showtime. We are proud that the series ended amid such strong viewership and on such a powerful note.”

Even though the network does not say this, I betcha a penny, they give it a sendoff film. It seems weird that they did not give it a final season like Homeland and Shameless, so at least they should get a telemovie. Don’t you agree?

Now that Showtime has three hours of programming to fill, wouldn’t it be nice if they revived Queer As Folk or Dexter? Dexter needs to make up for that sh!tty finale.

Antonio Banderas teaches Conan O’Brien to be One Singular Sensation
February 4th, 2020 under Antonio Banderas, Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

Antonio Banderas opened a theater in his hometown in Spain, and he is starring in a Spanish version of A Chorus Line. Banderas plays the director in the Broadway musical, and he offered to show Conan O’Brien some of the choreography when he was a guest on the TBS show yesterday.

Banderas, who is finally nominated for an Oscar, should stick to acting because his directing was horrible. Then again, I don’t even think that late great Bob Fosse or very talented Debbie Allen could teach Conan how to dance. Granted, I think Banderas chose the wrong number to teach his student. He should have gone with Dance Ten, Looks Three aka T!ts and A$$ instead. My body does its own moves whenever that song comes on playlist. Although, unlike me, Conan does not have an a$$ which is why he needs to see ee the wizard on Park and 73rd.

I really hope that Banderas finds a way to bring his take of the show to Broadway like he has said he wants to do.

Daniel Kaluuya is a sock stealer
February 4th, 2020 under Graham Norton. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, Margot Robbie and Daniel Kaluuya were on The Graham Norton Show and they both admitted that they have stolen things.

The I, Tonya actress, told a story about how she stole her friend’s toilet paper and placed it in a Ralph Lauren bag. Then when she left the apartment, it was the first time she was photographed by the paparazzi. She was embarrassed, but you would never know that was in the bag that she is carrying in the photo.

That was a one-time deal for her, yet the same can not be said about the Black Panther star. He admitted that he takes socks from the set. He even revealed the pattern of how he does it. He goes in with his own socks and then production gives him a pair to wear for shooting. He does this for four days straight, then he stops for two weeks before he resumes his wicked ways again.

Why does he do it? Two reasons, the first being, “Shopping for socks is a waste of life.” The second one is, “Costume designers have better taste in socks than me. They’re always nice.” How nice? Check out the pair of stolen socks he wore for his guest appearance on the BBC show.

Now that his secret is out there, he better hope no one tells him to Get Out for his thievery of socks. Can you imagine the headlines? Daniel Kaluuya socked from his latest movie. Director socks it to Daniel Kaluuya. Daniel Kaluuya was caught red barefooted.

Shannen Doherty reveals she has stage 4 breast cancer
February 4th, 2020 under Shannen Doherty. [ Comments: none ]

About four years ago, Shannen Doherty revealed that she had breast cancer by shaving her head. In 2017, she shared the news that she was in remission. Today, she told Amy Robach on Good Morning America that it came back, and it is stage four. The actress says she found out it was back about a year ago and is still processing the diagnosis because “it’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways.”

She knew her fate when her good friend, Luke Perry, died of a stroke in March. She said this about his untimely death, “It’s so weird for me to be diagnosed and then somebody who was, you know, seemingly healthy to go first. It was really, like, shocking. And the least I could do to honor him was to do that show. I still haven’t done, in my opinion. So it’s a hard one.”

The show she is talking about is the spinoff BH 90210, and she did it because she wanted to honor Perry. The only person she told on the set was Brian Austin Green, and he was there for her when they were working long days. She wants other people to know that you can still work with stage 4 cancer.

Why did she come out now? She is in a legal battle with State Farm insurance over the settlement they gave to her for her house that was heavily damaged during the Malibu fires in 2018. They will be going court in the next few days, and she did not want the world to find out about her cancer returning from the documents.

She is fighting for the little guys who have been taking advantage of by insurance companies. Why go through all of that when she is going through all of this? Doherty explains, “I think the thing I want to do the most right now is I want to make an impact.” Then she added, “I want to be remembered for something bigger than just me.”

That she will be remembered for. She has always been larger than life since she starred in the movies Girls Just Want to Have Fun, and Heathers in the ’80s, and later on when she did Beverly Hills, 90210, Charmed and whatever else she was in. Her acting and her openness about cancer are just two of the many things we will remember about her. We will add making an impact on the ever-growing list.

I will be praying for her and everyone else that is fighting that horrible disease on World Cancer Day. Why can’t they just come up with a cure already?

Seth MacFarlane can’t enough of Shirley Temple
February 4th, 2020 under Seth MacFarlane. [ Comments: none ]

Seth MacFarlane might be a 46-year-old man, but that doesn’t stop him from admitting when “That is f*cking good Shirley Temple.”

Just when I think I can not love him any more than I do, he does something like this. Why can’t we all admit, it is really f*cking good. I love drinking Shirley Temples. I don’t care how old I get, it is just the perfect cocktail. Plus, the bartenders always get a kick out it when I order one.

I read somewhere the alcoholic version one of is called the Shirley Temple Black. I have yet to try one with Vodka, but it is on my to-do list.

Back to my love of MacFarlane. A year ago, I adopted my cat from a rescue group whose building his family funded. I did not know that until six months after I rescued her, and I have been grateful to the MacFarlanes ever since. Heaven on Earth was the best shelter I visited and Perry’s Place is such a welcoming place. Although, some days like today, I think of returning her. I never would, don’t worry.

Sorry, I digressed. MacFarlane is a very charitable man. You might not think that after watching his shows, but he has a big heart. Perry’s Place is just one of the things he donates his money to.
