Suits begins its end, Pearson begins its beginning

Tonight at 9p, Suits begins its final season on USA Network. The season premiere starts off a few hours after it left off.

Harvey (Gabrielle Macht) and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) wake up together the morning after they finally admitted they have feelings for each other. While they ended their night with a bang, their morning will start off with a different type of bang.

The firm is in trouble because clients are leaving them due to Robert Zane’s disbarment. Several of them are saying drop his name or they will drop them.

Which partners are OK with removing his name as a named partner? Is it Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Donna, Harvey, Samantha (Katherine Heigl) and Alex (Dulé Hill)? Which one of them says that they will leave if they take his name off the door?

Then the episode ends with something that sets up the final season. What it is? I ain’t going to tell you. You will just have to tune in to see it.

Then next week, you will see Louis Litt like you have never seen him. And you can never unsee it.

Then at 10p, it is time for the Suits spinoff Pearson, based on Gina Torres’ character Jessica Pearson. This show is not like the show it spun off of, so don’t expect a Suits carbon copy.

Jessica has moved to Chicago to be with her boyfriend Jeff (D.B. Woodside). Now that she cannot practice law anymore, she takes a job as Mayor Bobby Novak’s (Morgan Spector) fixer. She has her work cut out for her because he needs a lot of fixing.

Keri Allen (Bethany Joy Lenz), the city’s attorney, does not want to work with her, but the mayor tells her she has too. Did I tell you, she is having an affair with Bobby? His wife has a medical condition and has not been there for Bobby like Keri has been.

Someone who has been there Bobby is his brother Nick D’Amato (Simon Kassianides). Nick is also his brother’s driver and protector. That means the ex-cop (for a reason) is keeping a damaging secret hidden for everyone. After he drives Jessica around for a day, he winds becoming her man. He knows the city and she does not.

Not only does she not know the city, but she also does not know politics is run in that city or in general. She keeps stepping on toes and that is pissing everyone off. Especially the people she should not be upsetting and her family whose house she did not save. No matter who tells her to drop things. she does not listen to them. So much so that no one likes her.

One of those people is Alderman Yoli Castillo (Isabel Arraiza). Jessica forces her to lose her job but then hires her as an assistant. Jessica is so mean to her. However, when Yoli really needs her, she is there for her. Maybe she is not as bad as everyone is making her out to be.

Even though Jessica is pushing everyone’s buttons, she is making a difference. Will it be enough to get people to be on her side, or will she be standing all alone? Will she be making things better or worse for the mayor who really needs her to fix his situations?

Find out on a show that shows us how politics is run and it is not always on the up and up. However, this show is.

AP Bio is not longer expelled from NBC
July 17th, 2019 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Back in May, NBC announced that they cancelled AP Bio. Well, you didn’t have to take AP classes to know that many people did not think that was a smart idea.

Today, they admitted their mistake and said that they picked up the show for a third season. However not for the network. The Hollywood Reporter says that it will be streaming on their new app that launches next year.

Since this is a Lorne Michaels’ show, I have a feeling he will be producing a lot more shows for them.

Mario Lopez leaves Extra for Access Hollywood
July 17th, 2019 under Mario Lopez. [ Comments: none ]

NBC announced today that Mario Lopez will be joining Access Hollywood and Access Daily starting in September. He will be co-hosting the entertainment news show with Kit Hoover and Scott Evans.

Along with working on AH, he also signed an overall deal to develop scripted and unscripted shows with Universal Television and Universal Television Alternative Studio.

He has been a host of Access’ rival Extra for 11 years. No word who will be replacing him. Since this hiring has been rumored for months, I am sure they will be announcing his replacement very soon.

Christina Tosi is out of MasterChef Junior!
July 17th, 2019 under Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: none ]

Christin Tosi has been with MasterChef Junior since season 4, but she is all cooked out. Fox announced today that the pastry chef will not be returning for the show’s 8th season. Instead, Daphne Oz is joining Gordon Ramsay and Aarón Sanchez as they mentor pint-size cooks who are vying for the title MasterChef Junior.

This upcoming season the chef-testants will serve up dishes at a historical renaissance fair and feed the fans of Monster Trucks at a motocross track. I think they will be more interested in the locations than cooking up yummy meals for their patrons for the day.

When it comes to Tosi, I say good riddance. I was never a fan. She was really harsh on the kids and that never sat well with me.

Will you miss her?

Good Boys is the kids’ movie that is not kid friendly!
July 17th, 2019 under Seth Rogen. [ Comments: none ]

Remember when Seth Rogen came up with an animated movie that was not for kids? Well, his new movie Good Boys is kind of like that.

Instead, this feature stars three tweens who keep getting into the type of mischief they won’t know about for a few years. I wonder how many things had to be explained to Jacob Tremblay, Keith L. Williams and Brady Noon while they were filming it. I hope a lot. However, when I was their age, I think I knew all about those things. Or at I thought I did.

Either way, I will be there on August 16th to see it because I have been a fan of Williams ever since he was on Selfie. That and it looks so wrong. We will all be feeling guilty that we are laughing as hard as we are with them.
