BTWF: Will Arnett on The Sopranos
February 12th, 2019 under Before They Were Famous, James Corden, Will Arnett. [ Comments: none ]

Before Will Arnett was starring on Arrested Development, he was arresting people on The Sopranos. I think he actually looks younger now than he did when he was 32 in that 2002 episode.

Want to hear the great story on he landed that part, then click here!

Carson Daly has set a last call for Last Call
February 12th, 2019 under The Voice. [ Comments: none ]

Did you know that Carson Daly has been hosting the late night music talk show Last Call on NBC since 2002? Well, he has and it is ending.

He explained his decision as “My 20’s was about finding a good job. My 30’s was about taking on as many of them as I could. Now, in my 40’s, I’m focused on quality over quantity. I want to do more with my ‘Today’ family and continue hosting and producing ‘The Voice’ and explore new opportunities.”

While he is looking for new opportunities, NBC will be looking for a new show to replace him. Hopefully, they will continue to do a music one because musicians are being seen less and less in late night and they need to have their voices heard. Maybe they incorporate interviews with some really kick-ass performances. Something more than what we get earlier in the night.

When it comes to when the show will end, that has not been decided. When it does it will have done 2,000 episodes. Which is beyond impressive.

Miracle Workers is miraculous!
February 12th, 2019 under Harry Potter, TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

When I read about Miracle Workers, I was like this comedy can either work or fail big time. Then when I got the screeners, I had to watch it immediately to see which way it was going to go. It goes straight up to heaven! Like when the clouds split open, the harp plays as it welcomes it to the Pearly Gates. Ahhhhh!

Miracle Workers debuts at 10:30p tonight on TBS and you do not want to miss it. If you do, then you will face the wrath of Gd. That is because the show is about him. Steve Buscemi plays Gd as the divine one has never been played before. He is basically an unlikable nincompoop who is not the brightest star in the universe. Then one day he decides that he does not like what is going on down on Earth, so he decides to destroy it.

Craig (Daniel Radcliffe) works in the prayer department at Heaven, Inc. and he has been doing it alone for the last 10,000 years. After doing it for so long all by himself, he finally gets a co-worker. Eliza (Geraldine Viswanathan) is a positive overachiever who thinks she can do it all. Therefore, when she hears Gd wants to destroy our planet, she chooses to make a deal with the Lord to save it. All she and Craig have to do is make one prayer come true. In other words, a miracle. Sounds easy, but is impossible. Especially, when they keep hitting obstacle after obstacle. Yet, they won’t give up.

As the weeks go on, they will get some help from Gd’s personal assistants (Karan Soni and Lolly Adefope). They cannot stand working for Gd because he has no idea what he is doing and they spend their whole day cleaning up his many messes. They are not the only ones who hate him, so do his parents (yes he has them), his siblings and everyone else at Heaven, Inc.

When Gd says he is going put an end to Earth, the day cannot come soon enough for everyone in Heaven. They are all ready to move on. What happens when our fab four need them to make their miracle happen? Will they help them save Earth or let Gd blow it up.

I cannot tell you that. What I can say is it will all be resolved by the end of the season. That and this is a thoroughly awesome show. You will love it because it is a sweet quirky comedy. It is one of those shows that you instantly fall in love with and enjoy every single minute. You will love the concept, the writing, the characters, you will love it all. It is the best-written thing since the Bible. Too far!

Anyways, I have never seen anything else like it. Who knew you can make a show where Hashem is not perfect, far from it, and yet it is one of the greatest shows you have seen. It is not sacrilegious, it is just good innocent addictive fun.

Like I said, you better watch it because you do not want to piss off the man upstairs.

In the recent weeks, Justin Bieber has been photographed crying a few times out in public. Today, People is reporting that he is getting treatment for depression according to three sources.

They made it clear that his new wife, Hailey Baldwin, is not a problem. It is his old life that is. Being a star at such a young age and not being able to have life is the problem. One source also said that the stress his parents put on him to succeed as a child also plays a part in his depression.

Now that he knows what is causing it and he is getting help, hopefully, it will work for him.

Weezer takes on Take On Me
February 12th, 2019 under Weezer. [ Comments: none ]

I don’t think there is any debate that a-ha’s Take On Me is one of the greatest music videos ever made. Right up there with Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about Weezer. The band recently released the Teal (you know they have released too many color albums when they are up to ugly sounding colors) Album which is a CD full of covers. One of them is that song and they shot a music video of it. Now, no one can recreate the original brilliance. Family Guy came close, but there was still not an a-ha moment. A-hahahahahah!

Sorry, got distracted. Anyways, Weezer wanted to capture part of that spirit but they had to make it their own. For Buddy Holly, they took it back to Happy Days, and for this one they went back to the year 1985. That was the year when everyone was singing the song and hoping that their comic books would come alive. For Rivers Cuomo, it meant jamming with his friends and belting out the song all the teens were singing.

While some of the frames were animated, most were just retro and what it looked like when music was at its prime. Yeah, the ’80s were like totally awesome. Although as the band reminded us, the hair was so not like cool. What was Flock of Seagulls thinking?

Forgetting about all of that, this video is like a totally tubular video that is like one Weezer’s best!
