Before Oprah Winfrey saved All My Children on OWN channel, she made a guest appearance on the Soap Opera. How sweet was the 27-year-old making her network TV debut back in 1981?
Dolly Parton gets prettier and younger-looking with every year that we are blessed to have her on this planet with us. Recently, she shared her secret to Oprah Winfrey on her Apple TV+ show The Oprah Conversation.
Miss Parton says she too busy to get old. Then the 75-year-old legend added, “I’ll bet you I won’t look much different when I am 95…I’ll look as young as my plastic surgeons will allow me.”
Of course, she was joking. She says that her timeless beauty comes from inside of her. It is all about the attitude, and you have to let your true self shine through.
Something she had to do for herself. Can you believe she claims that she is not a natural beauty. In fact, she described herself as a Backwoods Barbie. The Country singer says knew what she wanted to look like as soon as she saw her town’s trollop. She was inspired by her and the Frederick’s of Hollywood magazines. They were what she felt was inside of her, so she made her outside match. Then when she was 40, she started to go under the knife.
Whatever she has done and continues to do works for her. Who is going to say she not gorgeous on the inside and the outside? Even if she wasn’t the beauty we know, we would still love her because she has the biggest personality and an even bigger heart.
If that is what 75 looks like, then I am going to make an appointment with a plastic surgeon so that I can look that good now. I would base my look on my town’s trollop, but I grew up in NYC. Our ladies of the night did not look as classy as the ones in Little Pigeon River in Pittman Center, Tennessee.
There is so much that we have heard about Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but there is one thing we missed. Did you know there was a connection to The Brady Bunch during it?
The Duke and The Duchess, along with Winfrey, were sitting on chairs that are designed by Christopher Knight, aka Peter Brady. “To our pleasant surprise our wicker and acacia Burchett Outdoor Club Chairs were used for the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview with Oprah Winfrey,” he wrote.
They are currently sold out on Amazon, but he hopes to have them available again soon.
I seriously love how random this little tidbit is. Something mundane but interesting that came out of the interview.
I bet you thought that no one ever says no to Oprah Winfrey, but Meghan Markle did. You see, before the actress became a Duchess, Winfrey asked her for a sitdown interview, but Buckingham Palace would not let her do it. In fact, Markle says that there were people listening to their telephone conversation to make sure that she turned down the offer.
Why did she say yes now? “Well, so many things. That we’re on the other side of a lot of…a lot of life experience that’s happened,” Markle told Oprah. “And also that we have the ability to make our own choices in a way that I couldn’t have said yes to you then. That wasn’t my choice to make. So, as an adult who lived a really independent life to then go into this construct that is…different than I think what people imagine it to be, it’s really liberating to be able to have the right and the privilege in some ways to be able to say yes.”
The rest of their unrestricted, 2-hour chat will air Sunday at 8p on CBS.
Be prepared for Markle to claim to be the victim. She isn’t. I bet you she wears the pants in their marriage, and Harry has to do whatever she says. I feel for him. I am sure he wanted a change, but I don’t think he wanted all of this. Hopefully, his family will take him back with open arms after he gets divorced. We all know they are going to get one eventually.
It would be nice if they could live happily ever after, but that only happens in fairy tales.
Yesterday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they are expecting their second child together. Today, CBS announced that Oprah Winfrey will be talking to the couple about that and so much more.
“Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure,” CBS wrote in a press released. “Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”
The exclusive 90-minute special will air on March 7th.
