We have seen Jesse Tyler Ferguson do a lot of different things as Mitchell on Modern Family, but I don’t think we have ever seen him like this. He was seen on Hollywood Boulevard dressed up as Little Orphan Annie, red curly wig and all. If that isn’t traumatic enough, he also was seen singing her signature song Tomorrow in his best tough guy NY accent.
After watching this, I don’t think the sun will be coming out tomorrow. That is unless he lifts up his baby doll dress and then it will be a great big ball of fire.
When it comes to why he was dressed up like, we don’t know. But I am sure a lot of tourists got a surprise of a lifetime.
Aimee Carrero plays Sofia on Freeform’s Young & Hungry every Wednesday at 8p. Her character is a strong woman, who has her stuff together, and the actress is just the same in person. OK, well maybe Sofia is looking for a job and she just started dating her roommate’s ex, but other than that, she has her stuff together.
I recently visited the set of the scrumptious sitcom and I got to talk to her about it. Her character deals a lot with her roommate Gabi (Emily Osment), and she described their relationship as “I always say that, ‘Sophia is like the Ricky and Ethel to Gabi’s Lucy.'” Later on she added, “Sofia, sort of, brings to Gabi, a feeling of home, a feeling of centeredness and being grounded. And Gabi sort of pushes Sofia to be a little more romantic and a little more of an idealist.”
How does she describe her character? She told me, “She is definitely the realist. She is also not afraid to get her hands dirty when it comes to the plot and stuff like that it. It Is really fun to play Sofia and it is fun to play a character that is genuinely happy with who she is and comfortable in her own skin. That is really refreshing I think.” It is and it is empowering to the little girls who watch it every week.
She also likes that Sofia and Gabi, “do a lot to advance the role of women because the core audience is teenage girls. If we can show two women who are living alone and not crying about a boy or their bodies all the time, it is really great. It is just what we need and I am really proud of that.”
She is also proud that she will be playing Princess Elena of Avalor, Disney’s first Latina Princess. The Disney Junior animated show will spin off of the very popular Sofia the First later this year, and her character is described as “a confident and compassionate teenager in an enchanted fairytale kingdom inspired by diverse Latin cultures and folklore.” This means a lot to her as she shared with me, “One thing that really struck me is their commitment to making a great story. They do a great job of representing a lot of the Latin cultures because there are so many nuances in every country and every city. They do a good job of spreading it around evenly.”
What is it like to be the first Disney Latina Princess? Carrero said, “It is a huge responsibility, in a way you can’t process it all the time because I wouldn’t be able to do the job.” She does the job and it means a lot to her. She revealed that, “I think back to when I was growing up and watching these movies, I thought, I couldn’t see myself or my own story represented.” Then she added, “I am hoping that this will be a wonderful way for a new generation of boys and girls to, you know… If we can inspire a little bit of tolerance and a little bit of interest in something that is different than what somebody knows, I think they have succeeded.” If it is anything like Sofia the First, then they will be making a huge difference. I see it my 2 year old niece’s eyes every time she watches it and I can’t wait for her and all the little boys and girls to watch Princess Elena of Avalor. A show that will truly be making a difference and I can’t think of a better actress to voice that than Aimee Carrero.
Tune in to Freeform tonight at 8p to see her on Young & Hungry and later this year on Disney Junior’s Princess Elena of Avalor.

Last week when The Mysteries of Laura left off, Captain Santiani (Callie Thorne) was shot and killed by an assassin during a press conference. As Jake (Josh Lucas) is looking into the projection of the bullet, they realize that Santiani might not have been the target and Laura (Debra Messing) might’ve been the one they are after. Now. they are on a deadline to find out who fired the gun before they kill again.
The season finale is full of a lot of twist and turns, with you never knowing what happens next until it happens. But the biggest surprise comes at the end with a cliffhanger you don’t want to miss.
But the most memorable moment is between Laura and Max (Max Jenkins), you will know what it is when it happens.
The Mysteries of Laura didn’t have a Sophomore slump like so many other shows, and I hope that NBC gives it a third season. If not NBC, then USA that really needs a show like this since they pretty much cancelled all the enjoyable shows on their network except for Suits.
Dr. Jennifer Berman was on Conan yesterday, and it was another unforgettable appearance. This time she taught Andy Richter and Conan O’Brien how to do Kegel exercises to strengthen the muscle down there so they can last longer in bed.
She told the TBS late night host that he needs to look in the mirror, pull the base of penis in, lift the scrotum up and squeeze. Then she instructed him to do it. Whenever us women hear the word Kegel, we do it and I would assume he was doing it too.
But what if it is too hard to do? There is a little device that men can use to help them out. It was hard (that came later) for him to position himself on it, but when he did he was very excited. That is because it vibrates under a male’s testicular area. You can tell by the expression on his face he loved that and you can tell by my expression I didn’t. There are things you can’t unsee and this is one of them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXGoIF1OdJE Back in January, Will Forte debuted a new look, the whole right side of his head was shaved and the left side was not. People wondered what was up with that horrible look and yesterday on Jimmy Kimmel Live he explained that it was for his Fox show The Last Man on Earth. He didn’t say why, just confirmed that it was.
Then the ABC late night host asked what it was like being in public looking like that. He got a lot of strange stares, but the most awkward time was when he attended his friend’s father’s memorial service. The family was nice to him, but still he felt weird going there looking like that. Thankfully, the show is done taping, and the left side of his face matches the right one once again.
But you have to wonder, why if he created the show, he let them do that to him. Although knowing him, he probably came up with the idea and it sounded really good on paper. In the mirror, it was a whole other story.
BTW if Forte has some time on his hands, maybe he can give this kid some advice on how to deal with a head that is half shaved. Poor kid. Although, you know what, the toddler did a really good job with the razor. He could totally have a career as a barber when he grows up, if he wants to do it.
