Len Goodman is back on Dancing with the Stars and because of that Julianne Hough is out. The dancing competition will go back to a three judge panel and I think that is a really smart idea. Having the sister and a good friend of two of the professional dancers on the judging panel always seemed wrong to me. She was biased towards them and I think helped to keep Derek Hough in the competition longer than he needed to be some seasons.
So what is next for her? She told People, “I will miss being on the panel for Season 22, but have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing.” I just hope it is acting lessons because after Footloose, Rock of Ages and Grease: Live, I think we can all agree she needs them.
You might not know who Paul Lee is, but he was the man who has been running ABC for the last 6 years. Today, that is no longer the case and I think that they made a big mistake.
He has done more for sitcoms than all the other networks combined. He has had huge sucess with The Goldbergs, Fresh Off the Boat, Black-ish and Dr Ken. While that is the comedy side, he made TGIT a thing with the Shonda Rimes shows and was able to get Grey’s Anatomy to turn around after they killed off McDreamy. Quantico is also doing really well and one of the few new shows that didn’t benefit from a strong lead in. American Crime and How To Get Away With Murder has also got them award recognition which is something ABC has been lacking. These are just a few of his many accomplishments he has achieved during his tenure at the network.
Before he was at ABC, he was at ABC Family and he completely turned that network around with The Secret Life of an American Teenager, Baby Daddy and Pretty Little Liars. What happened when he left? They changed the name of the network to Freeform, enough said.
Those are the positives. ABC’s ratings are down, but their diversity is up. To me the fact that they have two sitcoms centered around Asian families speaks louder than anything else.
But I guess it is a money game and they want the ratings. Which is sad because I have been saying for years, he is the best network head out there. All the networks are struggling and yet their bosses all still have their jobs.
The person who should be out of a job is Ben Sherwood who was Lee’s boss. According to The New York Times he wants to turn ABC into CBS and do more procedurals. That is exactly what TV doesn’t need, we have more than enough as it is. Oh and CBS’s shows are all down this season. So maybe people are tiring of the same old who done it which can be guessed within the first 10 minutes of the show. I know I am. I like variety, and ABC had that.
Oh well, I am sure Paul Lee will wind up at another network like Fox? C’mon Fox hire him, he would be perfect for you.
Britney Spears changed up her act in Vegas, and it is a little more Toxic than it used to be. The singer, who is single, told the crowd on Valentine’s Day, “I think it’s time to find a hot nerd, like, a really hot guy, with a really big penis.” I can’t fault her about that. So much so, I would like to declare that I will take any of her leftovers!
On Monday night, Tyga had a post Grammy party and several celebrities wanted to go. Three of those celebrities were Sir Paul McCartney, Beck and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, but they ran into a little snag when they got there. The bouncer said their names weren’t on the list and they couldn’t get in. What do you do? If you are them, then you leave and go to another party.
Yesterday, when Tyga woke up, he was bombarded with messages about the incident. He took to Twitter and said, “Why would I deny @PaulMcCartney stop it. He’s a legend 🙏🏾,” following it up with, “I don’t control the door. I had no knowledge SIR PAUL was there. I just performed and left.”
He should know who Sir Paul McCartney is because his girlfriend’s sister’s husband recorded a song with him. When it comes to Beck, he should also know who he is because his girlfriend’s sister’s husband dissed him at last year’s Grammys. And with that I believe his story that he had no idea what happened until the next day.
If you still don’t believe him, then maybe this will help. Here’s what he told Jimmy Kimmel yesterday, “I really wish I knew he was outside, I would’ve went out there with the mic, brought him in to perform Rack City with me.”
To make amends about the whole situation, Tyga invited Sir Paul to his show in LA on February 26th. This time he will make sure his name is on the list.
