Wayward Pines debuts on Fox at 9p tonight and it is from M Night Shyamalan. What more do I need to tell you not to watch, then that is from M Night Shyamalan. Let’s be honest with each other, every he movie he did besides The Sixth Sense sucked. Wayward Pines is a little different than Signs, The Happening and The Village, in the way that you find out why it sucks 5 episodes in and you don’t have to wait until the ending of the movie to be disappointed.
Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) is a secret service agent who is looking for agent Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino) his partner who went missing. He wakes up from a car accident in Wayward Pines and now he can’t leave. In fact no one from the town can leave and no one can talk about their past.
Why do they have these new lives? Why can’t they leave? What is happening here? What is the creature that terrifies them all? It’s M Knight Shyamalan, of course there is a stupid creature, what did you think he would do a project without one? Anyways, all of that will be answered in the next few episodes.
But I have a feeling you won’t get to that point because the show is so dark (as in the way it is filmed) and boring, you will remove it from your DVR before then. I personally don’t know how I made it through the five episodes that they sent out.
The biggest atrocity about this show, is not how awful it is. It is that Matt Dillon comes off as a horrible actor. Maybe for years, I have been picturing him as the man I enjoyed watching in Little Darlings, The Outsider and Flamingo Kid to name a few, and never realized he couldn’t act to save himself. Or maybe that was the direction he was told to go in for this show. I don’t know what it is, but I will think it is the latter.
Another huge problem I have with the show, is there is a death in the coming weeks where someone has their neck slashed from ear to ear and you hear and almost see the near decapitation. Something that is normally reserved for horrible horror movies and can only be shown on pay cable channels like HBO and Showtime. It is so not for broadcast TV.
Finally, Terrence Howard is on the show, and had Wayward Pines aired before Empire; I am not sure Empire would’ve done as well. That is how awful his character is on this atrocious show.
So consider this warning and do with it what you want, but don’t watch this show. It is not worth a single minute of your time.
For decades it is a mystery that has plagued TV viewers all over the world, what happened to Carol Brady’s first husband, Mr Martin? The other day when she was on The HuffPost Show, Florence Henderson finally answered that very question. Was she a widow or a divorcee? She looked into the camera and said, “I killed my husband! I was the original Black Widow.” Then she got serious, “No one said, but I always say I just got rid of him.”
I like that scenario. Now let’s reboot The Brady Bunch with Carol Tyler Martin Brady killing off her husbands every season and never getting caught. Maybe Marcia and Cindy could be her accomplices, and they set Jan up to take the fall for their crimes. I’d watch, wouldn’t you?

For all of you boys, who were teens when Lizzie McGuire was on the air and always dreamed about what Hilary Duff looks like in bed, well now you know. That’s cause she shared a photo herself having problems falling to sleep because her brain wouldn’t show off.
So now you know what she looks like under the sheets, is she everything you hoped for and so much more?
It seems like every time that the contracts are up for the voices of The Simpsons, there is always an issue to get them to sign on the dotted line. This time the negotiations were relativity quiet, until their was a Tweet that was heard around the world. Harry Shearer Tweeted, “from James L. Brooks’ lawyer: ‘show will go on, Harry will not be part of it, wish him the best.'” Then he added, “This because I wanted what we’ve always had: the freedom to do other work. Of course, I wish him the very best.”
While in the past the holdup for getting the cast to re-sign was money, he says that is not why he decided to leave the show after 26 years, he says it was because of scheduling. He wants to do other things. Things, I don’t think anyone cares about but him. So best of luck to him and good riddance.
The good thing about The Simpsons is that he is voice actor, and he can easily be replaced. How many people have been practicing their best Simpsons voices since they were kids. Now one of them might get the chance to do just that.
Executive Produce Al Jean reassured fans on Twitter, “The show will go on, made by people who love it and see in it the most wonderful vehicle for satire ever.”
So how will they handle the loss of the Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, Mr Burns, Walter Smithers, Reverend Lovejoy, Dr Hibbert, Scratchy and Kent Brockman? Jean said that there will be no yellow wedding, so don’t expect his character’s to be killed off. They will just be voiced by someone new.
Hopefully the remaining four actors will see that they are easily replaceable and not be so greedy when their contracts come up in the future. That has always been a sore point for me. They want more money to talk into a microphone (I know it is not easy work, I’ve tried it) but you never hear them giving any of their earnings to charity. If they did, then maybe I would be more on their side.

UPDATE: James L Brooks broke his silence on Twitter about the situation and said, “Hey, we tried. We’re still trying. Harry, no kidding, let’s talk.”
I say move on. If he gets more than the $17 million the others are making, than those four will be upset and that will cause more problems and possibly delays. You see, the five of them up until now have worked as a team when it came to negotiations. Plus, why should he get more than them, he isn’t even a Simpson!!!

They didn’t make too many changes, because why should they. What changes they did make, make a lot of sense. They finally paired The Vampire Diaries with its spinoff The Originals on Thursdays. That means the declining Reigh, will rightfully move to Fridays. Although next season sounds like the older skewing show might be as good as the first season. We shall see. I am also happy that they paired Jane The Virgin with a show that is more fitting for it. It should really help both shows in the long run.
Some news from the conference call with the President of the network, Mark Perdowitz. The Vampire Diaries will focus on the Salvatore brothers as they get over the loss of Elena. The network has had a show on their air for 11 seasons that has focuses on two brothers, so they are not worried about TVD’s future. On that note, there is no end in sight for Supernatural. I can’t wait for The Winchesters to fight demons from their wheelchairs.
