Vin Diesel’s fast and furious dance moves!
July 29th, 2014 under Movies, Vin Diesel. [ Comments: none ]

Vin Diesel was on Good Morning America today, and he started the morning off dancing for them. His moves remind me of those of a guy at a bar who thinks he all suave, but meanwhile us ladies are like no way in hell or at least after 3 drinks.

BTWF roles: Samuel L Jackson in Ragtime
July 29th, 2014 under Before They Were Famous, Samuel L Jackson. [ Comments: none ]

Before Samuel L Jackson mastered breaking into places in several movies, he had problems breaking into a library in Ragtime. He looks the same now as he did when he was 32 in that 1981 movie.

Gayle King’s wardrobe malfunction!
July 29th, 2014 under Celeb Oops, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Gayle King put on a hot pink dress early this morning and she didn’t realize until much later in the afternoon that it was on backwards. Many of us have done the same thing, but unlike her we weren’t doing it on national television. Granted if we woke up as early as she does for work, we’d probably do the exact same thing more often than we already do it now.
BTW I know that the dress wasn’t meant to be worn that way, but I like the way it looks in the back. What about you?

April faces her mortality on Chasing Life
July 29th, 2014 under Italia Ricci and Robbie Amell. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8p on ABC Family’s Chasing Life, April (Italia Ricci) attends her first funeral for one of the members of her cancer group. That experience will change her outlook on everything.
Up until now, she didn’t realize that she could die. But seeing that someone just like her can, makes her comprehend that she might not be able to the beat cancer. The timing couldn’t be worse for her because she is about to start chemo. That means she will be in the hospital for a month, and she is beginning to accept that there is no guarantee that she will ever get out.
Now, that she understands she isn’t immortal, she finally gets what Leo (Scott Michael Foster) was saying about living life to fullest. Something he has been doing for other people and you will get to see what his beautiful legacy will be. It is an admirable one and you will wish you could follow his example. Although, we also learn something else about him and his cancer tonight.
Tonight’s Chasing Life is very poignant as it tackles the reality of death and how far someone will go to avoid dying. So once again, I warn you to have the tissues ready because it is another wonderfully done tearjerker.
If you have been missing out on this brilliant show, then please catch up on it on the ABC Family app or ABC Famly OnDemand. It is one of the few shows that I suggest you make time for because there is always time for powerful entertainment.

Restaurant Startup serves up the reality!
July 29th, 2014 under CNBC. [ Comments: none ]

Restaurant Startup is unlike any other reality show on television and you will want make a reservation for this show on CNBC Prime tonight at 10p.
Each week Tim Love and Joe Bastianich listen to two restaurant pitches. Whichever one they like better, they will give the winner $7.500 and 36 hours to turn their dream into a reality. If they think that they have what it takes to open a place of their own, then one of the renowned chefs invests their own money in them.
Every Tuesday night, you will see the real emotions of people as they get to see their hard work finally pay off. And real reality is something that Bastianich was going for. Recently on a conference call he told me, “I think that the show replicates reality in a really real way” Then he added, “I think that that’s an interesting thing to point out about the show, that it puts the reality back in reality television because it’s not like a bunch of stage horsesh!t, you know. It’s like real people making real food in a real situation and we’re investing real money.” Something his wife didn’t find out until the show’s premiere. Unlike Tim Love’s wife who knew about it in advance and was supportive of her husband.
This is just one of the things that both man do differently. but there is one thing they agree about. When I asked both of them to describe the other one, they both concurred they have different perspectives on almost everything, and that makes things better for the show. Even though they don’t see eye to eye on things, they both respect each other very much.
They want you to respect their show. As Joe explained, it’s more than just a reality show, you also get an education about the restaurant business. He says, we will learn things like, “What does your food cost needs to be what’s your gross margin, what is the labor cost, how do you make sufficient margin in the restaurant? Where does the profit come from?”
I know for me it has changed the way I eat out. It makes me respect all that these restaurant owners go through.
So tune in for a reality show that is unlike any other and yet so scrumptious to watch.
