BTWF roles: Scott Lowell in Caroline in the City
June 2nd, 2014 under Before They Were Famous, Queer As Folk. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 15:00 in)

Before Scott Lowell had a thing for men on Queer As Folk, he was into a woman who dressed like a fish on Caroline in the City. He looks the same now as he did when he was 33 in that 1999 episode.

This how Mariah Carey takes her kid to the park!
June 2nd, 2014 under Mariah Carey. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, Mariah Carey showed us she is just like us by riding a NYC subway. But unlike us she did it in evening gown. Today, she once again tried to prove that point by taking Dem Babies to the park. And again she dressed to the nines.
Although this time instead of digging her heels into who knows what at the train station, her heels were sinking into the rubber mats they put down to protect kids who fall a lot. I got to know those mats very well when I was kid.
But back to Mimi, you know what, say what you want to about her, but she is a good mom who spends a lot of time with her kids. She might be a Diva when it comes to a lot of things, but not when it comes to Roc and Roe.

Graham Elliot dishes about his fellow MasterChefs!
June 2nd, 2014 under Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: none ]

MasterChef in its 5th season on Fox, so you would think by the now that the MasterChefs would know each other and you would be right. Last week, I was on a conference call with the nicest MasterChef in the bunch and Graham Elliot only had yummy things to say about Gordon Ramsay and Joe Bastianich. Or I should say Mr Joe as he likes to be referred to.
The three men seem like they really get along and turns out they do. Elliot said, “It’s great because they’re actually, I think, two of my closest friends, not just in the industry, but just in general.” It could be because they hang out all day together on the set and even during breaks they talk and listen to music together. They have actually gotten so close that they feel like they are his older brothers that he can text and ask them for advice about stuff. In fact, it was talking to them that is a big reason why he started to get healthy and lose all of that weight. They would tell him how they did the Iron Man Triathlon and just in general talking about being their best made him want to be his best.
While that is nice to hear, but what we want to know is what did he think of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s cooking last week during the MasterChef season premiere. He said, “He’s a great natural cook, and it’s always fun to see him do it.” Then he told us that people ask him all the time if Ramsay can still cook after all of these cooking shows. He tells them, “I always say that if I had to build a team he would always be the first-round draft pick because, not only is he great at coaching and leading and inspiring, but he could make 100 soufflés and then jump over and filet 100 salmon and then roast 100 lamb racks and everything is perfect, which is really, really fun to see somebody that can do both sides from entertaining on television to getting their hands dirty, and being able to do any kind of station in the kitchen.”
While we didn’t ask him about Mr Joe’s cooking, he did reveal a secret about him. Before they started working on the show, Joe never tried curry food before. Since he has tasted it, he has become a big fan of the Indian cuisine.
Just like we have become big fans of the show that airs Mondays at 8p on Fox.

I am gaga over Sing Your Face Off
June 2nd, 2014 under ABC, Lisa Rinna. [ Comments: none ]

On Saturday night, ABC decided to finally air the much delayed Sing Your Face Off and I don’t know why they held this show until now and bury it on a Saturday during the summer. I bet you a penny if they aired it on a weekday during the regular season this show would be huge. It is cheesy and because of that is wonderful!
Each week 5 celebrities dress up as a famous singer and sing like the person they are imitating. So picture Jon Lovitz as Elton John or Lisa Rinna as Britney Spears or better yet Sebastian Bach as Lady Gaga. That’s right the Skid Row singer had a Bad Romance with Gaga! Not only does he have to sing and dance like her, but he also had to wear those heels. How he didn’t fall in them, I just don’t know. But Lisa Rinna can’t say the same thing because when she sat on judge Darryl Hammond’s lap as Britney, the two fell off of the chair and landed on the floor. Something he didn’t mind.
Another plus about this wild and wacky reality show, is John Barrowman is a great host and interacts perfectly with the judges and the celebrities.
I hope more people find this show on ABC this summer, so they will realize their mistake and bring it back in the winter. I’d love to see more celebrities try to do their best Tina Turner or Lionel Richie.
And you don’t want to miss the show this Saturday when Rinna does Katy Perry, Sebastian is Billy Idol and Lovitz gets high as Willie Nelson. Seriously, the show is just that crazy!
What wasn’t shown in the above clip, is judge RuPual teaches Bach how to sashay, and the rocker actually had a rockin’ walk. But as good as Ru and Bach’s walks were, the Arrow star has the best one of them all. So if you want to see it, make sure to watch it on ABC.com. the WatchABC App or on OnDemand. I promise you will laugh your a$$ off when you watch the first 2 episodes. And don’t forget to watch it Saturdays at 9p on ABC.

Arby’s created the longest commercial ever, it runs for 13 hours!
June 2nd, 2014 under Ads, Guinness World Records. [ Comments: none ]

Arby’s wanted to show you how they make their 13-Hour Smokehouse Brisket, so they made a 13 hour commercial to show us the whole process and I do mean whole. Instead of speeding through the over half day smoking, they shot it in real time. It is as interesting to watch as watching meat cook, oh wait!
Actually, it reminds me of the WPIX Yule Log, so it leaves me with a smile on my face. There is something just hypnotizing about it. And the most important thing is that it makes me want to try the sandwich and that is what a commercial is supposed to do.
BTW I wonder how long it took to upload this video to YouTube??? More time than it took to cook that Brisket.
