The first cancelled and picked up shows of the fall season are… |

Lucky 7 or should we call it unLucky 7 is the first new show of the season to be given the axe according to Deadline. ABC is pulling the show after only 2 episodes because it wasn’t winning the lottery when it came to ratings. I wish they would’ve given it a little more time because it really got better in the second episode and I wanted to see where it was going to go. I guess I will have to watch the English version of it to find out.
unLucky 7 will be replaced by repeats of Scandal for the time being. If I were running ABC, I would move hysterical The Goldbergs and the darling Trophy Wife to the 8p hour. Then I would put a new episode Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on at 9p and last week’s episode on at 10p until they decided what show should go there full time. I think if SHIELD got away from NCIS, it might do better domestically and the comedies have a better chance of succeeding at an earlier hour. I just think that The Goldbergs deserves a better timeslot because I sincerely think it will be the sleeper hit of the fall season.
While the news was unluckly over at ABC, the news is better over at NBC and Fox.
The Blacklist is on a white one because NBC picked up the drama for a full season. James Spader proves once again he can do anything as long as it is not in an Office.
And over at Fox The Simpsons was picked up for its record breaking 26th season. That’s right 26!!! At this rate they will outlive all of us.

Halle Berry is returning to TV next summer |

Ever since Halle Berry won the Oscar, her movie career has stalled. So I guess that played in her decision to return TV.
She will be storming back to our television sets next summer in the Stephen Spielberg produced Extant on CBS.
Here’s the description from the press release, “Berry will play an astronaut who returns home from a year-long solo mission in space and tries to reconnect with her husband and son in their everyday life. Her experiences in space and home lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history.”
This is Spielberg’s second show airing on CBS next the summer, the first was the highly successful Under The Dome that’s returning for its second season. From the description of Extant and knowing how amazing Under the Dome us, I think CBS might have a stronger summer lineup than the winter one. I don’t even like Berry and I want to see her new show.
Who knew summer television could be must watch? I guess CBS finally realized it.

David Letterman is staying put! |

When Jay Leno announced he was leaving to The Tonight Show people wondered if David Letterman would do the same at The Late Show. Well CBS announced today that the late night host is staying put until at least 2015.
In that same press release the 66 year old explained why he is not retiring just yet., “Les and I had a lengthy discussion, and we both agreed that I needed a little more time to fully run the show into the ground.”
Personally I think his show has gotten a lot stronger recently and I for one am happy he ain’t going anywhere for the time being.

Sean Hayes scares us with Grimm, but how does he handle being scared? |

Sean Hayes was a guest on Ellen DeGeneres talk show to promote his sitcom Sean Saves the World, but he wound up promoting the NBC drama he produces, Grimm. She asked the Jack what scares him and he said being on talk shows. Well she gave him another reason to be scared of being on them. That’s cause she had someone dress up as a tree and surprise him by saying “Boo!” His reaction to the fright is the best one I have ever seen on her show. And she has frightened more people than we can count.
I really hope his producing partner, Todd Milliner, sees this and decides to give Tom Lennon his wish of a Halloween episode for Sean Saves the World that airs Thursdays at 9p on NBC. Here’s what I would do, I’d have people dress up and constantly scare Sean throughout the episode. I know I would watch it just to see that reaction again and again and again because it is so cute and funny. Just like his show!
And if it is too late for a Halloween episode, then I hope Thomas Lennon makes a few Vine videos of different people from the show scaring their boss. Who’s with me?

Jerry O’Connell is training his twin girls to be the next Miley Cyrus! |
| October 4th, 2013 under Conan O'Brien, Jerry O'Connell/Rebecca Romijn. [ Comments: none ]

Jerry O’Connell was on Conan O’Brien’s show yesterday and the TBS host asked him if he wants his daughters to go into showbiz. Well he was a Defender of Miley Cyrus’ and said he is training the 5 year olds to be just like her for the money.
In fact as he described the different training techniques he’s using, he showed off the special talent he has with his tongue. I think we can all agree his wife is a very lucky lady.
On that note, Conan also asked him about Rebecca Romijn never changing her name to his; and the We Are Men star said that he doesn’t want her to. In fact he is thinking of changing his last name to her’s. I like the sound of Jerry Romijn. Doesn’t it have a nice ring to it?
And what also has a nice ring to it, is his new sitcom We Are Men that airs Mondays on CBS at 8:30p. It is the perfect show for single and married people to enjoy alike. Remembering what was, what is and what you no longer have! And it is funny as all heck.
Now when it comes to Conan saying Jerry is the Worst Dad, I think we can all agree that is a lie. Jerry O’Connell is one of the best dads in Hollywood.
