When it was announced that Disney was going to make 3 new Star Wars films, I am sure I am not the only one who was hoping that J.J. Abrams would direct at least one of them. Well the man who brought us Felicity gave us some news that was as devastating as that horrible haircut she got. According to The Hollywood Reporter he told Empire Magazine, “There were the very early conversations, and I quickly said that, because of my loyalty to Star Trek and also just being a fan, I wouldn’t even want to be involved in the next version of those things.” Then he added, “I declined any involvement very early on. I’d rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming, rather than being involved in the minutiae of making them.”
So now that he is out, it will be interesting to see who will get their dream job.
On October 31, 2011 Jessica Simpson announced that she was going to be “Mummy” and today her 8 month old daughter Maxwell Drew let the world know she is going to be a “Big Sis”! No word when she is due, but I expect that on April 1, 2014 she will tell us she is pregnant with baby #3!
May your family gatherings this Christmas Day before more peaceful than The Ewings will be, and may you get as many expensive gifts as they will be getting!
Merry Christmas!
Charles Durning passed away yesterday at the age of 89 according to USA Today. The character actor was best known for his roles in Tootsie, The Sting and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, but the younger generation got to know him as Gavin’s dad on Rescue Me and Peter’s dad on Family Guy.
While most of us know him as a truly great actor, a lot of us learned through his obituary that he was a World War II hero. He was one of the first wave of soldiers that landed in Normandy on D-Day and he was the only survivor in his unit on that day. He was later captured in the Battle of the Bulge, and survived when several of the prisoners were massacred.
So today let’s honor him for his brilliant work as actor and as a soldier and watch one of his many roles to keep his spirit and talent alive.
Before Kim Cattrall was the strong one in the relationship in Sex and the City, she was married to an abusive man on Quincy, ME. She looks the same now as she did when she was 20 in that 1997 episode.
